Somewhat of a rant: It's generally touted by popular "money gurus" and financial "experts" that the best way to become rich is by saving your money and living as a minimalist. I find that hilarious although upsetting that so many people believe that crap. If everyone stopped spending their money the economy would collapse overnight. Your thoughts?

I suppose it depends on the specific expert in question, but most of living a minimalistic lifestyle is about minimizing spending on unnecessary things. Minimalists still spend money, and are usually willing to spend more on quality, rather than quantity of goods.
