Thanks to S928 for finding this video ... I knew bits and pieces of Stallone's story, but when you get into the details, it is really incredible.

    Some key points:

    1) Changing your entrepreneurial premise -- Sly did this (from himself to others) and changed his outcomes.
    2) Knowing when to change your approach to achieve different results. (Doing the same thing over-and-over again will yield identical outcomes)
    3) Having a firm vision for yourself and aligning your choices with that vision.
    4) FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS -- not too many people are willing to take the sacrifices he did which is why, not many people achieve his level of success.

I think that is true for most people -- it was for me. I knew if i got a job out of college I'd never escape the trap.

I used to go to the LA Equestrian Center to watch the then LA Lancer arena polo matches. Stallone had a box there for his Stallone Foundation and was frequently at the Sat evening matches...While many others who had boxes would have various members of the glitterati with them, Stallone always had a bunch of kids with him in the box and a couple of other people. Figured that any guy who'd do that regularly on Sat night could not be all bad.

The dog part of the story kind of cinches it in my mind.
