Stock market troubles good for entrepreneurs?

There is a case to be made about the positive effect of the present stock market decline on the position of entrepreneurs. Of course if it comes to a stock market meltdown the whole economy will jam and we're all in trouble. However, if it's "just" a long expected major correction, it could result in investment money being shifted from the stock market to private companies.

Today, I was reading a column written by an active Dutch business angel. She indicated that she sold her complete portfolio of public stocks last year and that she now concentrates fully on finding small private companies to invest in.
