Afternoon Everyone,
Has anyone outsourced their Social Media Marketing? If so how did you get on? Would you do it again?
1 month ago I had virtually zero social media skills. I had no personal social accounts, and had never even seen Instagram before.
FWIW, The past month I've been doing 100% of my own Instagram marketing. I've completely stayed away from all automated tools, and am doing everything manually.
I have learned sooooooo much about... everything, this way. By following and commenting on the followers of my competition, I have a very good understanding of my target customer now, and it's a bit different than I thought it would be. I've learned what successful marketing campaigns competitors have done to be successful, and have adapted their strategies for my own use.
I committed to posting once every day, and the data I have received has been priceless. Each post is a test on the market. What do the customers respond to. What gets them wanting to buy. What gets them engaging and asking questions. What do they "like". This will help me tailor my copy, my offer, my product design, and my communication with customers to help close sales.
I had always thought I would want to outsource social media... but I just don't know why you would want to alienate yourself from the customers so early on. Eventually, I'll know what I need to know, and can hire someone to do it for me, but I wouldn't change the time spent in the trenches this last month for anything.
