Hello everyone, I am new here right now. I am from India and I am 20 years old. Entrepreneurship in India is very hard for students of my age here as parents are hardwired to the beliefs of the society here. They believe that doing engineering from reputed colleges, getting job and going abroad for job and then saving your income for rest of your life will give you IMMENSE pleasure. But I don't like my society. To me it is bullshit.I don't like asking my parents for money or my weekly allowances every time. I feel like being caged. I read fastlane millionaire and it was amazing. It is little expensive here but I was motivated by it.

Anyways, I have decided to change my life. I was brain storming for businesses. I am looking for business that can give me fastlane entry. I brainstormed for some ideas and I got Smoothies Shake business.

Everyone is now getting fitness conscious and are now avoiding junk foods and sugary drinks. Youths here are focusing more and more clean diets here. Hence, I brainstormed an idea of selling healthy smoothies and juices.I wanted your opinions on my idea.Do you guys see any scope?

Hi! Welcome to the forum.

I'm from India as well. So I believe that puts me in a better position to answer your question about the viability of your idea regarding "Indian consumers".

First off, you would need a Brick&Mortar store and assuming that you have the money and infrastructure in place, you would have to concentrate really hard on your product line. One thing I can think right off the top of my head for a healthy drink is wheat grass. How many more can you think of? How many of these are associated with taste and not just health? Are your products a substitute for protein shakes? And I admit that these are very basic questions.

Just a thought. Smoothies and shakes are comfort food. Heavily motivated by states of mind. Their taste is really important. I don't think the Indian people are really worried about how it would hit their gym schedule. At least, not enough people to allow you to make a "good" profit, as opposed to a decent one.

However, I think its a good idea, provided the questions are answers. You would really need mad execution skills to get this running!

Just another tip. You would receive better answers if your questions were structured around specific issues. People don't generally respond to rating an idea or "Is it fastlane?".

Best of luck!

Regards,
Neeraj.

Thanks for the reply. Glad to see someone from same country. @Neeraj

Right now, I am on idea phase. I am thinking of ideas on which I can help myself to grow. Smoothies was one of my ideas. I can explore others options also.
I don't have infrastructure or capital to run my business. You also know that no one lends capital to students of my age for businesses. Indian society is hard to decipher. I ask for some ideas also as you are aware of our society.

I am also working on my smoothies idea. I am brainstorming for ideas to make my smoothies tasty , healthy and different from others.

Your thinking is too small, think bigger. Instead of smoothie shop think smoothie franchise.

You could start with a mobile cart, then hire someone to run it, get more then franchise. Franchise needs great recipe, branding and marketing.

I have big dreams. But right now I am lost. I don't know how to achieve them. I am brainstorming for ideas right now, and smoothies are one of them.

In the beginning since you have no capital, you're going to want a find a business that maximizes your time and essentially uses that as capital instead.

What can you spend hours on per day that will benefit you in the long run? Find something where you can be learning a skill (ruby on rails, seo, writing, etc) while also refining your hustle.

If you start a smoothie business you have to spend the money on all of the ingredients, all of which have a certain shelf life. Don't sell them right away and it's money that's wasted.

Channel your entrepreneurial energy into something else that will keep you paid forever.

I've had this idea and can see it being explosive if executed properly in certain areas here in California.

Good luck man!

@benhebert Can you give me some other ideas which doesn't requires long hours of sitting on a PC. I no longer want to sit hours per day on pc. I want to socialise with people. PC and internet has taken toll on me. I have very poor socializing skills and I am very shy and introvert

Ajay,

Answer these questions

1. is your passion smoothies?
2. Have you checked out the competition?
3. What is your USP?
4. Do you have enough money to start?

You will want to get into a very good location like a busy Mall or the main street. Get great branding and make the place look cool, get it successful and build another then another. Then you have the recipe to sell franchises over the whole country.

Google Robek Smoothies. It is amazing and done (at least to my knowledge) in the Northeastern Regions of America. Don't go for a smoothie drink that is healthy like wheat grass, offer that, but just make healthy smoothies (flavored). Make a franchise.

It would be awesome to work on a project like this in India. Keep in touch via message I want to hear more and if it sounds feasible I'd like to see what I can do.

@tafy I am not passionate about smoothies. I am motivated by financial freedom and I want to live big. I want to achieve it in any way.
Right now in India, there aren't much competition in this field. There isnt any brand which franchises smoothies.
Right now, capital is huge problem for me. I will figure out something

@Michael Raphael I am planning to create smoothies which caters according to needs of people. I will create smoothies recipes which are high in protein for bodybuilders, weight loss helping smoothies, smoothies for kids, smoothies to recharge your body etc. You get the idea?
