Site built with WIX - but want to move to another hosting provider

Anything considered a "hustle" and not necessarily a CENTS-based Fastlane

Hello,

So I just made my website with WIX and it looks stunning.

BUT, I have had to ask WIX to provide me with SSL Certificate files, been on the phone many times to them and they never have what I want.

So as much as they can be amazing, they are crap.

I am wanting to have my site hosted by somebody else in order for me to obtain the SSL files.

Is this possible? As my site is solely built with WIX, will moving to another hosting company a) resolve the problem and b) not damage my website?

I am looking forward to your assistance

Thank you in advance!

Have you tried this:

To answer your questions:

A) Yes, most web hosts have one-click buttons to turn on SSL

B) If you move from Wix (which is a proprietory platform), you'll have to rebuild everything from scratch.

You are probably going to have other problems. A friend of mine has his website in Wix and cannot really customize his website in the way he wishes for.

His Pagespeed also sucks, so if you aim for SEO, that is not the way.

I say, stay away from Wix, Webflow or similar stuff like that. If you need something for 2-3 months, it is good, but for permanent website, it is just not enough control.

I do have an SSL Certificate on my website!
My business partner is requiring SSL Certificate files which include CRT + Private key + CAbundle.

Can WIX provide me with these?

WIX is telling me the same things over and over again and in the end I am not getting what I want, for example the video you included.

For a do-it-yourself solution, a CMS like Wordpress is the way to go. You install a theme and then build it with a live visual editor or page builder. Building a website on Wix is like buying a franchise instead of just owning the business... you relinquish control and have to play within their rules on their time.

By comparison, when I want to install an SSL on a Wordpress website, I search the plugin database for SSLs, install "Really Simple SSL", activate it, and I'm done in under a minute.
