I am selling my E-commerce business and Amazon account. The buyer wants to make sure the account does not get flagged once transfer of ownership is completed. One way of doing it is by selling my LLC to him so he will keep the EIN and LLC.

However, since I am operated as a single member LLC. It will be treated as an asset sale and EIN does not carryover to him.

For those of you who have sold their business with an amazon account, how did you transfer the account? Will the account be flagged once you changed the ownership information in seller central?

You should be able to just transfer the account over by changing the EIN and LLC name in seller central.

I wouldn’t sell the LLC to the buyer because it carries over any liabilities that your LLC may have.

Does Amazon allow changing ownership like that? I thought seller account can’t be transferred or sold?

Everyone I know that sold an Amazon business just changed the ownership, EIN and bank account in seller central.

I’ve done it twice myself when I’ve sold.

How did you find a buyer for your business?
