I would say both. Read 10 books that your very interested in 1 time and then read the best book 10 times.

IMO reading good book more than once is very effective. For example, each time I read over TGR I always find something I've missed previously.
Reading it once and taking notes is like reading it a thousand times times, I highly recommend it.
Read 10 books 100 times. First being 10X Rule.
My personal method is reading the book once and writing down headings, subheadings and any highlighted key points in my special notepad.
