I am looking at registering a trademark in the UK for my company, I'm not sure if you can help me directly or point me in the direction of who I should be asking.

My question is about whether, when registering a logo, you would want to register the logo and the name separately or if you can just do them together?

As in, if you were to register them together, would that protect you from other people using either part of it?

For example, if you were registering "NIKE" and the "tick" as one logo would that protect both parts used separately or just used together.

Hi Brrr,

I just registered my brand name in Germany and over here it was possible to register both at once (Logo + Brandname). I only registered the brand name however.

Regarding your question, whether people can still use either part of it when you register them together, im not sure 100%.... but I would say no.

Better to ask in your local chamber of commerce though, they must know these kinds of things!
