Just a heads up...

My wife and I had a meeting with a financial adviser this morning. She has an old, dormant 403b that we have tried for years to get more control over. Found out that we can roll it over into an IRA and still maintain employment with plan administrator's permission.

The plan has always been to move it from a full service company(full service LOL) to a discount brokerage and self direct.

The adviser told us about a pending house ruling that will impact all tax deferred plans, including SD IRA's.

The feeling is that most people do not get any advice and management of their retirement plans. The proposal would be that every account has an active manager and that there would be required fees for that management, whether at a full service or discount brokerage.

According to him the ruling should come out in about 60 days. It will impact everyone with a tax deferred plan.
