I've seen plenty of posts about investing/speculating in public markets, which I also do. For example, public stock markets, options, futures, etc. Does anyone also invest in private offerings? Generally, these are the investments where you have to prove "accredited investor" status in order to invest in them (unjust in my opinion, but it is what it is).

I access these kinds of investments currently through a PE fund that lets accredited investors put money into the fund or the specific companies. Around Feb 2019 I bought into an interesting new trash-collecting company. Just yesterday I bought into a SaaS platform for home appraisals used by banks and Appraisal Management Companies (AMCs).

Is anyone else making these kinds of investments?
