Was wondering if anyone knew of any good private medical insurance for entrepreneurs? People that work from home and or work for themselves, any good providers that you could recommend to other fastlaners?

The health shares are bar none the best price for the benefits. The more money I have the more it makes sense too.

My wife and I have Medishare with a $5000 "annual portion" (basically deductible). I view insurance truly as insurance, not a maintenance plan. People who view it as a unlimited plan shouldn't get a healthshare. Eyes? I paid out of pocket and it cost me $300 bucks this year. So what. Little doctor visits? $100 bucks here or there? So what.

The cool part is if I did have to use the insurance for a legitimate problem, it would cover whatever specialist, whatever treatment, any doc, which is valuable to me.

I'd be open to hearing some options. The only thing I really know is obamacare and it costs over $1300 a month for health insurance (no dental) for the crappiest plan to cover my wife, child and I. Absurd if you ask me.

Wow, what a deal! In Arizona, you'd probably be looking at $2K/mo+. But hey, that's why it's called the Affordable Health Care act eh?

Well let’s all remember... there’s zero limitations on your preexisting conditions. So get cancer and THEN go buy a policy.

Dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. Go total your car and then buy auto insurance....

Maybe they’ll do that with life insurance too and I can just go put a policy on my deceased father for 20 million.

I am lucky enough to have a really affordable regional plan based on my (mostly non-existent) income. I'm really not looking forward to that time when I make enough to phase out of my plan, but too little to afford any other.

The ACA is the biggest steaming pile to ever come out of Washington.

Agreed on every point except not looking forward to making enough money to phase out your plan. Income solves the problem of expensive healthcare.

You're forgetting that everyone is forced to participate or taxed for it anyway. So it's more like, "don't buy insurance but pay anyway, or do buy insurance and pay through the nose".

Seems to me it would be better to open a hospital and offer a subscription service. Health insurance seems like a lie to me because we all die eventually. But subscribing to a business that actually provides medical care (no middleman) seems reasonable.

Can you imagine having a hospital nearby that publishes their costs? And offers a subscription for various levels of care? I would drop to catastrophic insurance (makes more sense then - something that might not happen) if I could subscribe to the Netflix of medical care.
