First off, I have been following Steve Crooks over on warrior forum:
Follow me to $100 a day in Adsense in 3 months from 1 blog
His message is fastlane in many ways and has been a pleasure to read and follow. I wanted to get some opinions on factors people are using in creating a page for adsense revenue.
I realize that you want to diversify your website's income such as setting up an affiliate program, but want to limit this thread to specifically adsense since it is the most dominant in terms of generating income by websites (probably a word for this, but I don't know it).
Steve used the following criteria in determining what topic to pursue.
The criteria for a good adsense niche is:
1. Has high CPC associated with it.
2. Has low competition.
3. Has plenty of advertisers in adwords.
4. Has plenty of searches in google.
1. High CPC
2. High Searches per month
3. Consistent searches through the year
4. Could I create content for that niche?
(posted these criteria twice and they aren't exactly the same)
He selected "European Cruises"
1. It has a CPC of $6.51 associated with it.
2. It has approximately 6600 searches per month.
3. The search volume is reasonably consistent through the year.
4. The competition is 181,000 in google.
5. I can create content for this niche.

How does CPC search volume lead to the conclusion that it should be possible to generate 100 dollars/day?
He mentions that this is just a guideline, but does that correlate well with others using adsense (he states that he needs about ~2000 unique visitors/day to generate about 100 dollars/day)?
If you believe the criteria are critical then what should be a minium in pursuing this idea?
Example)
CPC from 4.00?
Search volume 1500?
Competition under 250k (he stated)
How are people deciding if there is a lot of competition based on the simple bars provided by adsense?
(if you haven't ever looked into this type of thing: go to google, business solutions, adwords, get key word ideas)
How does one figure this out? " 3. Has plenty of advertisers in adwords."
