Post a Picture: Your Favorite Places to Spend Free Time

My favorite place to spend "free time" will be the backyard of my own home in perfect privacy.

Here's a picture of the back from the place I just bought in Utah, has its own creek in the back, and when it isn't flowing, it has its own waterfall as well.

Another lockdown? I don't care... my home is my paradise. No need to travel.

Wanted to post a fun off-topic thread...

What are your favorite places near where you live where you tend to spend a lot of your free time? It can be anything: a beach, a restaurant, a desert, a local landmark, a mountain trail where you ride your bike, old town, your own backyard, etc. Just curious how and where Fastlaners spend their free time.

I'll start with two places:

1. A lake where I swim a few times a week in the summer.



Surrounded by the forest, it's the cleanest lake in the region. Thankfully it's not as popular as other lakes so when I head there in the morning, I'm often completely by myself. It's one of my favorite feelings in the world to be swimming in the middle of the lake in silence, with nothing but a quiet splash of water. The only drawback is that it's a 45-minute drive away from where I live so a quick 1-hour swimming session actually takes me 2.5-3 hours. I'm blessed to enjoy time freedom thanks to my Fastlane business so that's not that big of a problem, though.

2. A nearby forest.



I'm usually there a few times a week year round. It's only a 10-minute drive away from where I live so that's super convenient. I know the place so well it feels like my second home, having walked the trails hundreds, if not thousands of times. It's not really a huge or a remote forest but I'm still grateful for it as usually there's nobody there.

Here's the 'old town' nearby — You could walk these streets for days.

We’re less than a mile from a national park with lots of hiking that the kids can manage.



When we need a break from the heat we drive up north a few hours to either Flagstaff or Sedona (picture above)

We also love Coronado as a town and for the beach but since @Kak will kill me in my sleep if I move to CA, a vacation home is more likely than being residents.

I love walking the kids to school. We live in a town but there’s some nice paths by ponds and a hill they love running up and down…

I love to take a time out in Greece.
Taking only my family members with me and spending time there with long year friends I only know from hanging around in Greece.
Maybe maximal swimming googles, running shoes and an Ipad.
I allways go there by ferry boat, because I want to have my own car and I still love driving(fast) after some million kilometers.

The Pyrenees (mountain range that sets the border between France and Spain) are my playground. Half an hour drive from home. Otherwise, the ocean is just one hour away and has great surf. Don't hesitate to hit me up if you happen to be around and want to go for some epic hiking !

That's a super clean lake! How large is it?

300 acres so plenty big enough. A guy a few houses down has a seaplane and takes off right out in front of us, it's awesome.

It's like 15 feet deep so deep enough to jump in from the bridge and boat around in, but shallow enough to be the perfect swimming temp in the afternoons.

There's a boat launch but there's no parking, which means there's nobody out on the water except for the people that live here. Never crowded unlike lake tapps.

Which is why rent is 3200 + utilities lol

As a side note, I've found that after a while (assuming your business does well) you really don't want to talk about business so much and instead want to talk about other stuff. At least that's how it is for me.

Agree. This is also a reason that I have friends based on interests. Not just wealthy friends.

This is where I have been going to clear my head and forget about everything else for the past year. Since starting windsurfing back up (I wasn't that good before, just a mediocre beginner) mid last year, I've learned how to do so much. Ride waves. Ride a hydrofoil. Now, I'm riding an all out foil race rig and if there's any kind of wind I can hit 25mph. Now I just need to get those high speed turns down...
