I know there are a bunch of you from Phoenix, and I'll be in that area for a business trip for the next couple days (specifically in Chandler, AZ at the Courtyard by Marriott).

Wondering if anyone had any good restaurant recommendations for the area?

Thanks!

Italian: Va Bene, Chandler Blvd in Ahwatukee (In a strip mall but the food and service is usually excellent, usually live jazz band on weekends)

In walking distance from the Courtyard there is

1) My Big Fat Greek Restaurant (food is always good)
2) Jillys (Sports bar, good food)
3) Flemings (Wine bar and steakhouse)

By car and near the Chandler Fashion Mall

1) The Keg (decent steak, but a chain place)
2) Majerles (sports bar, decent food)

Unfortunately the restaurants in Chandler pale in comparison to the Bay Area ... everything out here is an over-exposed chain (Benihana, Chiles, Applebees). To get more Bay Area uniqueness, you have to journey up to Scottsdale.

The unique, ma-and-pop restaurant type establishments here are simply lacking.

I really enjoyed the course actually. It's exactly what's needed to set off in the part-time freelancing direction. Taken a few courses before...
