Growing up around lawyers, I'd say I'm decently versed at reading and understanding legal agreements.
But also, my head is full of worst case scenarios, I read stuff that I sign, and take it seriously. As I read a contract, I can clearly see how it could be harmful to me, even if I do everything right.
However, this is affecting the progress of my fastlane endeavors, as there are many websites and softwares which I need, but don't want to use as parts of their TOS for me are too much on the offense.
I know they don't care about yet another small guy using their platform/software, especially as I'm always well behaved and respect agreements I get into. But still, the very fact that by signing something I'll allow some company to have me by the...neck...gives me a "f*** you" reflex, and then I stick to suboptimal solutions with friendlier TOS, and not leveraging powerful platforms.
I am interested if anyone else ever feels like this and how do you get over it?
For all other people I know, they just click "Yes" and get on with their lives. Most cautious sometimes glance over it.
I'm not quick to post questions on forum, but this one is a big sticky point for me.
