Hello everyone!
As a disillusioned employee in the financial services industry, I read TMF and it was like a revelation to me - I can't continue my life like that, I need to change!
I considered several niches that I might get into for my venture. Since sutainable sourcing is a topic that grows a lot in importance, I decided on a category where I could provide my customer with products that have a higher quality than most of what is offered at comparable prices, while at the same time making a real contribution to producers from low-income countries (no dropshipping).
So here is a list of the things I did so far:
However, so far I've made exactly zero sales. I get several dozen visitors on my website each day, people like my Instagram page (the Facebook page not as much...), they look at my products, but nobody hits the "buy" button.
So I came here to get into contact with people who had similar experiences, especially in online retail, and might know how to diagnose what exactly the problem is. And I will do anything to convert this (admittedly whiny) thread into a progress thread
I look forward to hearing from you guys (and girls)!

So here is a list of the things I did so far:
- travelled to meet with my prospective producers, get to know their products and explain to them what kind of product and quality I expected
- bought samples from them
- created an online store
- shot product photos and wrote descriptions
- created Facebook and Instagram pages for promotion
- wrote blog posts about my business, the philosophy, the products and the producers
- posted ads on Facebook and Google to promote my products and the business itself.
However, so far I've made exactly zero sales. I get several dozen visitors on my website each day, people like my Instagram page (the Facebook page not as much...), they look at my products, but nobody hits the "buy" button.
