Thanks for the invite!
............

Seriously though... So I want to open the invitation to be on the show to forum members. If you have a cool outline of material to talk about, PM me and we will take a look at making a show out of it. It is a fun time and I am sure all of our previous guests can attest to the fact that it isn't a scary as it sounds.

I reserve the right to decline, for obvious reasons.

So I asked Kyle to invite one HUGE A-lister. His immediate response? "I will reach out."

If this guy is on the show (and he actually DOES accept invitations if time permits), it'll be so EPIC I can't even explain it. I'm not going to say who until he agrees. Then you'll have to thank me guys LOL.

Speaking of this!

I got my response back from Jeff Bezos’ office today as well. He politely declined as he is busy at the moment. No kidding? The richest man in the world is busy? Hahaha

I will keep the line open with his assistant and get him on the show eventually. Maybe...

@Vigilante You will like this. For anyone who listened to your chat with Kyle about going TOP DOWN when chatting with companies, I just had the Senior VP of a company forward my email to the exact person I need to talk to. Lol, take that gatekeepers!

This absolutely works, and it has led to me talking to some pretty big deal people in some pretty big deal companies.

Love this. We all have life and business values, and I feel we’re better off if we have them articulated or written down.

What comes across most to me is that you have a calling to build businesses and feel you’d be doing the world a disservice if you didn’t. Combine that with how you want to do business and you’re destined to help a lot of people.

This was great. I have similar conversations with my boys when we’re out walking or in queues. I ask them questions that get them thinking.

Looking forward to you getting your wife on the show and hearing your dynamic. If you’re both bouncing ideas off each other then that would be great to hear.

Super jealous of your scarlet XLR interface thing! My USB mic gain bouncing around constantly is breaking my heart. I’m on a ferry so will be listenIng to that one shortly.

I am pretty freaking stoked about how it is starting to sound.

I also have a new high end Lewitt mic on the way since I need two now with my wife joining me sometimes... All in all... This has become a somewhat pricy hobby.

EPISODE 19 has arrived

We had a little hiccup with my guest we had planned for the day, but have no fear, we have rescheduled for Tuesday. Instead, for your listening pleasure is my worst episode yet!

I start by being inspired by a specific company, get derailed and bitch about price gouging laws, and then wrap it up talking about that company again.
Enjoy!!

It works. Looked up COO on linked in last week. Guessed his email (first name @). He passed to appropriate person. Had phone call within 24 hours. Already negotiating a deal.

Most of the time, you have no idea who the most appropriate person would be. Top down takes out the guesswork.

Mind sharing in a generic way what your intial message to the COO was?

Hi Name,

[complement on his company's product.]

I'm interested in [blank] (I used 13 words)

If that idea appeals to you, let's set up a call,

Thanks,

I've been trying to limit my emails to three sentences. All of them.

This personal email policy is pretty bad a$$! Thanks for sharing this!

I might implement the 5 sentences or less version and see how that streamlines my communication.

Complex, multifaceted emails DO take me a lot longer to respond to than simple emails.

I always used three paragraphs in cover letters.

From here:

The Cover Letter

My 3 paragraph formula
:

Hi <Name>,

<Reason I'm writing to you.>

<Quick paragraph explaining how I can help.>

<Polite call to action.>

Thanks,
Andy

If I have anything else to write then I'll put it below my signature, and refer to it in the short email.

Kyle and Dave, you literally taught us gold with the "TOP DOWN" approach.

Sent an email to Walmart Canada's COO at 1 am last night. Got an email back at 7 am this morning with the Sr Director for the category we're in cc'ed... talk about work ethic though, COO of Walmart Canada replying to an email at 7 am.

Added a screenshot. Still need to perfect my email skills, but it worked!

sidebar, Walmart executives are my reference standard. A buyer might NEVER return your call, but a buyer that gets an email from an EVP within Walmart will ALWAYS call you. So glad this is resonating for you.

Heck yes amp!

Sorry to hijack your thread Kyle, but I just want to really hammer this home! I did the exact same thing, looked up these guys on LinkedIn. I then search the internet to figure out the email address format, and then email them.

I have a phone meeting with whoever the guy is who does the buying for what we are supplying next week. Just like that.

So in one week I go from having 0 contact with these guys, to have a phone meeting with the direct person responsible in the company.

What is my other option? To go through their "vendor contact form"? No thanks.

EPISODE 20!!!!!

A milestone episode!

I am joined by my AWESOME wife and entrepreneur Brittany for a discussion of the phrase "Giving Back." A bullshit guilt trip of a phrase.

The Myth of Giving "Back" With Kyle and Brittany Keegan

This was SUCH a fun episode for us. You will get to look in to what our life is like together. I say it in the show, but we suck at being normal. This literally is the kind of crap we talk about.

Disclaimer... We are giving people... Just listen.

EPISODE 21: Start Today!
Want to be an entrepreneur? Don't get stuck in analysis paralysis. Start today!

EPISODE 22: Surviving the Collapse.

We take a look at our skills as entrepreneurs and applying our problem solving abilities in hypothetical periods of severe collapse. We are already living in unstable times. It is ignorant to think that it can never happen so it is absolutely worth some thought horsepower.

Surviving the collapse was particularly interesting to me! You know where to find it at this point.

Take two with Yaron Brook this afternoon! Should be an EPIC show. For those of you that don't know who he is...

He is the chairman of the Ayn Rand Institute

He is the host of the Yaron Brook Show on YouTube

He is the author of these bestselling books:
33835

33836
33837

This should be a fun one. If we make it happen, the KBRS show will be up tonight!

Phew-eee. Can’t keep up with you producers. I’ve nearly finished the show you did with your wife @Kak. I thought it was a great format, and haven’t come across husband and wife business shows before.

Very funny that you both screwed up in the show, identically. You were delighted you weren’t the only one to do it too Kyle. Haha.

The point about how people are ok with employees earning good money but not with business owners struck home. I see that attitude here and in the UK too but hadn’t thought about it. It’s a shame.

It’s good that you guys have consciences, but don’t think everyone is wired the same. I suspect the unscrupulous sleep soundly at night while we wouldn’t.
