I read it. Pains me to say I'm still stuck in the race as a rat but I'm at least trying to break out of the cage. I had a couple pet hamsters growing up who were pretty adept at doing that. lol

Read it. The Unscripted philosophy ain't new to me. But I'm determined even further to escape the "Rat race".

Such a great book, I especially appreciate the structure of the principles and the story being separate, which makes re-reading the most relevant principles/strategies required at each stage of your personal journey much easier. I also think using the story to contextualise each principle is a great way to cement each principle/strategy, since as humans we use stories to make sense of the world.

I just finished your new book. I'll be honest I don't comment on here often, but this book was your best yet. Absolute wealth of information. I am truly thankful for what you shared. It was motivating, and even emotional at times which I've never gotten from a business book before.

Your previous books changed my life and my outlook on life, like many others here.
This really provided a lot of quality tools, updated outlooks, and great examples to add to my pocket. Both in my entrepreneurial journey and in indicators for projects I invest in.

I've read the Rat Race Escape. A couple of points:
1. My wife is not into "dry" strategy books like the Millionaire Fastlane . However, the story format made it easy for her to stay engaged
2. We're both blind, and some authors skip diagrams in Audible books and refer to the accompanying PDF, which is not helpful because our software reads text, but not images. However, this book was very helpful since as far as I can gather, all the diagrams were read out, which helped us get the points better.

The entire messaging of the book is excellent as usual. I would like to praise the story however. Your understanding of writing a good story with plenty of good set ups and payoffs was very entertaining and the character dynamics between the two never got old. MJ, were you attempting, in a serious way, to convert readers to turn vegan?

No.

I stuck with a subject I knew intimately (including the soup idea which is no longer unique 3 years later) and gave a narrow-minded, stubborn guy a character arc with multiple paradigm shifts. In a lot of ways, Trotman was like me when I was a 29 year old who thought he knew everything.

MJ im so glad I got turned onto these books.

I have read "The Great Rat Race Escape ." I love how @MJ DeMarco weaved the principles into a good story. I am not sure if I should call it a fictional story, however, since this is the everyday reality of so many people. Incredible book! Now, I have to focus on finishing "Unscripted ."

I read the first 40 pages today and the whole time I was comparing it to my life and what I'm currently going through. I can't wait to read the entire book! I'm going to start with the paper copy and eventually purchase it on Audible.

If I'm already on the list, will I get access to an advanced copy as well? Or do I have to sign up additionally on the link?

FYI, there is an error on page 24. The very last line that says, "realized" should be "realize."

MJ did it again. This new book is done so well that I might consider it the best book so far, and the previous ones weren't easy to beat at all. The storytelling really attaches extra emotions to the concepts and deposits them deeper into you. I'm loving it and it will guide me in my life like the other two books. I'm not quite "living the dream" so far, but I started a business that is doing decently after 3 years, I know it will get better if I keep following the advice, and I owe pretty much everything to "my virtual uncle MJ" for the mindset his books gave me.

PS: I hope an audiobook version comes soon!

As I’m reading this, I’m thinking about allllll the people I know that would GREATLY benefit from reading this book! Including my 16 and 17 year old….never too early to learn how to avoid the rate race!

Finally finished! Just wrote a review in German for the English Kindle version.

I suppose the book is mostly an attempt at closing a gap between real value and utility value!?
Wondering is there is more frustration involved , or more scientific curiosity. Or maybe I just got the wrong impression.

Expected fewer interruptions and more story flow, but I am anything but complaining. The interruptions and the redundancy eliminated the nagging feeling that I should read the other books again. The story did help with my emotions behind the Unscripted life concept. And I suppose I can recommend the book to people without urging them to read the other books first. Nice!

For some reason the tree trunk that you can't change no matter what really got to me. Probably led to new poison pens. Love that the book puts hopes and dreams at the center.

Excellent book. The story of Jeff and Samantha made it more relatable than prior two books. Only have few hours to complete listening, will be done today. Please make this site mobile friendly as well. Responding/Posting to a thread is difficult.

What business are you in?

It's been a heatwave here in Ireland lately! Though the winters can be depressing though they often don't kick in until Nov/December. I hear Grand Canaria is the place to be as it has loads of tax grants for startups and has both types of climate on the North/South side of the Island.

On Chapter 22 and loving MJ's book so far. Didn't realise we were getting both speakers and I just love the variety, plus in the book version you can skip the story parts when you're re-reading the book. It's definitely given me a kick up the a$$ and is highlighting where I'm going wrong so far i.e. Business System Strategy. I might create a simple 1/5/10 printout to help me as I find writing out a 5 minute simple one pager daily helps reinforce my goals... will share when I do.

Just finished it on Audible. I hope the fact that you added a story will help me remember the laws, if anything it kept it interesting. But who gives someone 11 minutes to sell their farm MJ .
