Hello my name is John and I just started living my life unscripted . I graduated from FSU about 5 years ago and have worked various jobs in sales in the internet and cell phone industry as well as a brief time selling solar door to door(which I was relatively successful at). I felt crazy for years because it is always difficult for me to "keep my head down" and work hard at my jobs. They have just always felt hopeless and I lack much motivation to really put all of my effort into my work for other people.
Don't get me wrong I am highly motivated and a hard worker but doing it for other people has never motivated me. After reading Unscripted and Rich Dad Poor Dad recently I have realized that Im really not crazy but that I need to stop being an hourly wage slave and put all of my effort into starting up my own business.
I have been working on my off days and after work toward my goal of owning my own time and not selling it for an hourly wage. Both of my parents have worked hard at their jobs their entire lives and are miserable and have nothing to show for it. I refuse to go down that same path. I have dabbled in entrepreneurship in the past but after really applying myself the last few weeks and working daily on my e-commerce businesses I realized that I made a lot of mistakes my first time trying to sell on Amazon about 5 years ago.
I did almost no research my first time around and I limited my marketing to free options such as Pintrest and Instagram. This time around I have found a niche' that seems to be exploding over the last year due to changes in our laws and regulations.
I have done a lot of research on this niche' and I believe I have a good shot at turning this into a profitable online business. I know what avenues I am going to use to market and advertise and I will be putting most of my money into advertising. My current plan is to start with drop shipping and when sales start to roll in I plan to stock product myself at that point.
I have targeted products that I can make at least a 20% mark up on while undercutting a large part of the current market. Eventually I will order and stock these products myself and increase my revenue. I ordered sample products from the suppliers I plan to use and should have those within the next 1-2 weeks and plan to launch my website then. I recently taught myself how to build websites with wordpress and the brizzy plugin.
I have a monthly subscription to a webhost that lets me host an unlimited amount of websites for $20 a month so if my first one does not work out I will continue researching and finding niches' until I get that gold gum ball. Any thoughts on my current plan would be greatly appreciated. I am glad to be here and learn from this forum and hopefully one day I will be able to share my experience with others!
