Important Update For Non-USA Amazon Sellers

Amazon, apparently overnight, just introduced the ability for more countries to do business with Amazon.com WITHOUT requiring a USA bank account.

This has previously been a hurdle for many people, such as myself (Canada). Deposit methods now include the following countries (bold = new, as best I can tell):

Australia
Austria
Belgium
Canada
Cyprus
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hong Kong
India
Ireland
Italy
Luxembourg
Malta
Netherlands
New Zealand
Portugal
Slovakia
Slovenia
Spain
United Kingdom

Not that this was a terribly difficult hurdle before, but it's one less thing in your way now.

Hi JaJt,
Do you do much via amazon.com?
As a fellow Canadian (Vancouver), I am closely looking at ecommerce, just a little concerned with focusing on only Canada and our much smaller market. My concern with shipping in to the U.S is costs, time (custom holds etc) and brokerage fees.
Any insight would be much appreciated?

Canadians have extra hurdles, especially if you want to ship to canada before shipping to the usa. This is less of an issue if you ship directly from the usa to the usa (if you have a usa supplier) or if you trust your overseas supplier enough to have them ship it to amazon for you.

I suggest you check out my thread called "dipping my toes into importing" (my progress as a canadian) and vigilante's thread called "addicted to passive income deposits" (vig's progress, although he is usa based). Both threads are on the inside (requires paid subscription to the forum) because we didn't want the info we shared to be public on the web (IE, google can't find it) and putting threads like this on the inside gives us at least the smallest modicum of privacy while still being able to share valuable information.

Think of it as joining an entrepreneurial community rather than a payment purely for information extraction. You get out what you put in, basically, but yes - people share more inside than out.
