So here is my desperate situation: i'm entering my last of 4 years at a university of economics. 3 years ago, i heard about print on demand, selling tshirt in particular from my friends, they said everyone was making lots of money from it, so i thought i would get a try, setting up some facebook ads with the money i saved and sold not a piece of sh*t. I didn't believe it could make money so i just stopped running facebook because i had only about 200$ left, after that i didn't put any real effort into making money, only hanging around looking for a method of making money online and just studied at my university on and off and watched lots of tv, porn and then masturbated.

After that i struggled with tv and porn addiction, tried lots of methods to quit (still struggling now). then about 2 years ago, i found a method of selling tshirt on instagram, they called it free traffic, so i put all of my money into this game, this was actually a success to me. I made in total about 5000$ (very big in my country) in the next 3 months i don't remember exactly. So i scaled like hell, created hundred of accounts to make more money. This was when it hit me in the face. Instagram started to blocked following and then banned lots of accounts. bumped i lost huge amounts of money to proxies and vps,... Disappointed, desperate I fell back into the old track of tv and porn addiction. Then i decided to try one again this time but no spam. Bumped still failed, instagram became too hard.

Now i'm trying to sell tshirt with pinterest, after 6 months of testing with lots of fails and very small profit. I only have now 250$ dollar (enough to cover the cost of the next 3 months of pinterest). i have 20 days more to decide that i should abandon pinterest and try something new with 250$ left or just stick with it, it's like hell because i don't know which way to go. Also i'm owing my school 500$ (one-semester fee), my dad gave me the money but i took it over the pay for the cost. Don't know when i have to pay back, i guess when i graduate. I don't tell my dad of course, this causes me lots of stress because my family is not some kind of rich, just middle-class or something.

I want to do something big, i always want to create a startup that has impact on the world, but i was born in a poor asian country. Struggling with tv, porn, masturbating addiction. Now just do this thing to make money, not creating anything but still not making any money let alone creating something big. I don't know how to code to create my startup. Don't have any valuable relationship. Now not knowing how to make money to continue making money, pay for debt. Should i give up and just confess all with my dad and then try to study hard to graduate and get a job. Maybe making some money until i have enough fund to go back and try. F*ck it, i'm lost now.

- Read the Millionaire Fastlane (at the very least look at the video above for help on CENTS Businesses)
- Business Has its ups and downs. You learn more from the failures, than when you are "winning at the game"
- You're mixing several problems together. Your business woes are not the same as your personal struggles.
It's showing you that you have the ability to get attention and get people to buy, but you must have control over the system. (so you cant have your profits go to zero overnight).

Learn from your mistakes, and build a better business system.

Life is so F*cking hard. The good thing is you are 21! You'll live until you are 80. You are so F*cking early in the process. If life was a football match, you would still be in the locker room before the match even starts!

F*ck business! Your life is more important then a t-shirt- or any other business. Focus on your life. And remember that life has no user manual, so you can't do anything wrong. Your happiness is what's important.

It sound like you lost control, that's why you are lost. Get help for your addictions. I know it sucks, but if you can't figure it out by yourself, you have to get help.

Go to YouTube and search for GaryVee. He helped me figure out life.

GOOD LUCK AND DONT F*ckING GIVE UP. YOU GOT THIS!

Maybe i need take a step back to rethink my strategy. Writing this thread partly calms me down. I'm searching for articles of successful people about stress and struggles to read. I guess only i could help myself. If i don't get back up myself, no one else could be able to help me. Thank you so much.

Fighting my addictions at same time with trying to make money maybe is too overwhelmed to me. But yeah i need to figure it out myself. That is the battle of me with myself, nobody could help me win that except for me. Thank you very much, actually now i'm a bit calm after writing everything down. I will take a sleep to fresh my mind and then keep going to see where everything goes. In the worst case scenario, maybe i will confess that with my dad and ask him for help with the tuition fee, and then i will apply for Grabs to earn money and pay him back. I will survive for sure. Thank you so much again.

I knew from the beginning that there will be times that life beats us like hell when we chose this route. I just can't imagine it is this hard. But i think i'm back to normal now, i'll separate my business and my struggles with porn into 2 different paths and plan for each of them. I have a lot to go, this is not the end of all. Thank you all, i'm back to work right now, wish you guys all luck and energy to fight with your own battles.

Are you from India? What business trends are there in your own country?
No bro, i'm from Vietnam. My country is a little bit behind the world, so i may say the big trend here is still ecommerce, web application or some kind of sharing economy. And the small trend is the next coming mid-autumn festival. I'm thinking of doing ecommerce in my country but the profit margin is so small compared to ecommerce in the USA or Europe i think.

@MoneyHacker I'm 21 too, USA. Also went down a similar route as you with the blackhat marketing shit. It's money chasing garbage that provides income for a while (if you're fortunate) but doesn't last, which is the worst. If you could make money off that, you can make money off other things (much more over the long-run)

If I was in Vietnam right now though, on a macro level, I'd try to get into the manufacturing industry somehow. China is getting beaten up badly by the US trade war and factories are fleeing from there mostly to .... Vietnam.

I know it's really macro, but if you could somehow figure out a way to crack into that industry and serve a need, you will be in a very good spot in the next few years and the rest of your life. It doesn't even necessarily have to be owning a factory or some crazy thing. Just something ancillary to that perhaps.

Sounds like you're chasing money and looking for validation rather than looking to provide VALUE. You're going to have to change that mindset. Take a look around you and see where you can provide VALUE.

As for porn addiction here's a good post that breaks down how to fix it.
My Thoughts On Rebooting [EXTREMELY LONG POST]
I know how difficult it is, I'm 21 as well and grew up watching that junk, really messes with your head. But if you stay mindful you can do it.

Also read The Miracle Morning, life changing stuff. The habits I'm learning from that book are causing my whole day to be far more productive than ever before.

MoneyHacker - glad you've joined us, now take a deep breath and relax - you're going to be fine. Really man, you have the right mindset, you've joined the right group of like minded people and you're trying. This is more than most people do and why they remain on the sidewalk - much less the slow lane. This may sound odd, but I recommend you stop worrying about the porn. Concentrate your energies on biz activities and you'll find, that over time, the porn moves further and further away. When you are mentally and physically engaged in meaningful effort for your success, the old waste of time activities just seem to fade away. Doesn't mean they end forever, in fact they shouldn't...we all need a little relaxation from time to time - in whatever form we enjoy. But you'll find the excitement of growing a successful biz is contagious. It starts to take over and things like porn, gaming, drinking etc just fade out.

All the best, we look forward to following you on your path to success.

Hi bro, i'm glad to know that i'm not alone. I'm trying to change my mindset asap. But with a few bucks left, it's hard for me to build a brand from scratch. So i'm thinking that i will try a last chance with pinterest but this time i will build it slow and create more meaningful contents for my customers. Then i will shift it gradually to building a dropshipping brand with Shopify.

Yeah, i do look into the opportunities at my country when the trade war happened but in Vietnam most companies are just "satellite companies" (i don't what it's called in english, i translate it raw from vietnamese), that they manufacture just a specific part of a complete product and supply it to big companies like samsung,.... but Vietnamese manufacturers are pretty strong at fashion product (clothing, sneaker,...). I will try to think about it, thank buddy.

Thank you so much brother. I'm not sure that the way i go is correct, but i must accept it as a thing everyone must face when walking on this path. I'm not afraid anymore, at least with my body and my motorbike left, i could apply for grabs bike and i will survive. Actually Grabs bikers in my country earn big bucks as hell, my friends at university i could say they are rich from that lol.

Wow man, i really didn't think of it. I realize that i was into porn every time i was bored when my business was running fine, and also when my business messed up, i was disappointed and looked for porn to find an escape. Nice mindset thanks bro, i will try to make my business activities more exciting and maybe find some more useful way to relax when i'm stressed.

Also i wish you all the best on your business life, your health and family. Thank you so much again

You need to 100% quit porn fully and give yourself probably 6 months plus for your dopamine levels to rebalance.

You don’t feel alive cause your reward system which regulates your mood and motivation is shot to bits. Porn addiction does this - just like gaming and drug addiction.

Quit porn fully and give it time. Your brain needs to reset before you feel normal levels of drive again.

Find an entrepreneur to work with, and go into the trenched with him. You'll learn more than you'll ever learn in school
thank you, i will definitely do that. But the sad thing is that, i don't know, i just feel like what i'm doing right now is just a way to earn money and to learn about internet marketing and business. It's not the thing that i want to do to the rest of my life, i don't have enough money now and i don't have enough knowledge, so i'm afraid and ashamed that i don't have enough resources to make my startup idea a reality, to form a team with other entrepreneurs. So i'm just doing what i'm doing right now to see if i could make a small success to make a pedal to my main startup later. I'm already aware of it, but maybe it might take time. I don't know.

Thank you, i know that it will take time but i really have no time left. So i guess i have to try to quit porn and try hard with my business at the same time. I have been struggling with porn for 5-6 years or even more i think (yeah it's real, i'm not lying). I made really long streak in the past, but again i also fell hard all the time. I will try harder after this, maybe i will fail more but i think i'm better right now, don't know how but i feel that.

Don't just try, DO. It all starts with the language. It really does.

I am not a big fan of Tony Robbins, but there's one lesson I learned from him that helped me stick to certain habits.

"People will do more to avoid pain than they do to gain pleasure."

Imagine what your life is going to be like in 5-10-20 years from now if you continue with your bad habits and work ethic. List all the painful things that will happen.

Use this as a leverage to persevere through hardships.

If you want to take it further, write it on a piece of paper by also adding all the positive things that will happen if you commit to the process. Read this every morning when you wake up.

If life was a football match, you would still be in the locker room before the match even starts!

So much good advice here. But let's look at what you really have. You have a biz in T-shirts that is run off of ads. Is that a biz? No, that's a hobby or a side line that might make you a little money.

You have an entitlement mind-set that thinks all you have to do is have a product and post some ads and collect lots of money. And it's not taking off, so you feel you're failing. What do you expect for the amount of effort you're putting into it? If I decided to import toasters and run some ads, should I expect "that" to be a business - should I expect to make money? Do I even deserve to make money by doing so little effort? What if I added another "product line" like toothbrushes? See how ridiculous this is?

I'm not saying this to make you feel bad. But if you can't lay your biz out in a chart and see what it really is, then you're totally lost.

It's not hard to recover. For immediate results take an easy part time job. 4 hours a day just "being there." Work in a movie theatre taking tickets. Grocery store stocking shelves. Tons of instant easy jobs out there. THEN, if you want to, you can take a portion of that money to fund your ads.

Be practical. See what you really have and where you really are. Your problems are not problems at all if you step back and look at them. You think you should have a thriving biz giving you tons of money. You have an effort that might make a little money on the side. Don't set your expectations too high. Geesh - if it was this easy, everyone and their brother would throw up a biz, launch some ads, and sit back and collect money.

If you change your expectations you will see that you are doing quite well for what you have.
