Today I did the sally up challenge again, this time for 16 repetitions.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlEWUNV2Xzs

I think that is for sure the record now, although I wished I could have kept going for the 1 hour mark but my hands were on fire. Anyway, on to next things...

Lets say I am able to break the world record in some fitness feat. ie. worlds longest stomach plank. How could I use this to make profit? Genuinely curious. Will people be coming to you for training, will companies sponsor this?
Its not something I care too much to have it verified.

Do you want to make money or not?

Get it verified. Break this record. Break another record. Break the plank record (Which by the way you still need a lot of work on).

Then write a book.

Then go on the speaking circuit.

Tell your story of overcoming alcoholism and whatever other dark things you've dealt with in your life, and turned yourself into a machine that can continually push itself to success.

Tell people they can stay droopy or they can change like you did. Get a catch phrase or two. 100% of success is 90% mental.

Keep competing with yourself.

Sign an endorsement deal. Better yet, pull a Shaq and only endorse companies you believe in, in exchange for equity.

Start your own line of push up grips or athletic bandanas for sweat or... Something.

Use your notoriety and social media following and email list to build that brand of Challenge Push Up Grips or No Droop Wear. Sell on your own website. Sell your book too.

Keep pushing yourself.

You can level up your business mind or you can stay droopy.

Did that answer your question?

F*ck it.

@Shono... I'll put $5/day YouTube Ad spend behind it for a couple of weeks. I'm not great at YouTube ads and this could help me learn while helping you. Maybe it will work for Google Ads too. I'll check that as well.

Reply if you're up for it and I'll set the wheels in motion.

I'm curious where those views are coming from too.
They are coming from people wanting to witness this legend breaking the world record.

@Shono
I would strongly encourage you to:
  • delete or set to private all the videos that are not related to fitness
    • some of them might turn off a lot of people
    • trust me when I say this, it's extremely important
  • set a new profile picture on the channel which is coherent with the message you're trying to show to the world
  • gradually expand into other physical challenges after you recover from your injury
  • expand into the social media market using short form videos

Step by step everything will turn into gold.
We're all very proud of you.

That is absolutely insane. I don’t even know what to say. Firstly, I don’t think I can take your money like that, I would at the very least reimburse you for any effort and expense on your part. I am out right now, but I will message you once I am home.

This forum really is incredible, the amount of positivity and abundance is really new to me, and inspiring.

Just. Say. Yes.

Andy doesn't need your money. He is spending money to learn something new and is excited about the project. This might not go anywhere and you would get nothing but he will still have gained knowledge.

Don't pay it back, pay it forward someday.

F*ck it. @Shono... I'll put $5/day YouTube Ad spend behind it for a couple of weeks. I'm not great at YouTube ads and this could help me learn while helping you. Maybe it will work for Google Ads too. I'll check that as well.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one here who likes "cool projects", is willing to do "something for nothing", and put up my own cash to help someone get started.

We've not run any YouTube Ads yet. I'm curious where those views are coming from too. Is it from the forum and people sharing? Or from searches on YouTube and/or Google for "sally up challenge" etc?

The video has a load of Likes and Shon is also up to 70 subscribers.

@Shono ... what were your takeaways from our chat last week? What's the one thing you aim to complete this week?
I had posted it in my instagram, and a friend of mine with about 175k followers also shared it briefly! I am quite surprised at the turnout, I hadn’t looked at it until recently.

My first takeaway from our chat is as you said, it is important to take action. I tend to be one to overanalyze and plan before executing, despite knowing that the best of entrepreneurs jump off a cliff and mcgyver an airplane on the way down. That is real urgency, which I’ve lacked my whole life. Also the way you put into words the whole academic smarts of studying for the perfect score vs the street smarts of efficient action really opened my eyes.

The second takeaway is to master the focus, to really hone in on what is important for the week, instead of drifting around in all sorts of directions and making mediocre progress on many things, it’s better to utilize your time and energy on the key goal for the week.

I am also keeping in mind what you advised with namecheap etc.

Thank you as always :praise:

Do you really think so?
No, I don't think or believe this.

I know it for a fact.

We cannot escape the consequences of our actions. The way we make our life is the way it happens.

Nothing in this world beats incremental improvement.

Every step taken into a positive direction counts. If you walk on the same path for long enough, the consequences start piling up and a snowball effect is created. Works like compound interest.

This is true for both positive and negative things. It's either exponential growth or exponential decline.

You've already experienced the horrible reality of exponential decline.

Now it's time to experience exponential growth.

Life is going to be so wonderful you wouldn't be able to believe it.

But for that, the process needs to be executed. Small steps every single day.

Success will happen.

On some other side of the internet, this guy is writing “Operation droopynipps update: it’s been over 7 months since I joined an entrepreneur forum. They still engage with me. They haven’t figured out everything I say is meant to troll and be stupid. I wonder how long this will work, it’s hilarious”.

So in some ridiculous irony drinking alcohol kept me fit because I would promise myself to train extra hard.
Perfect example of taking something very destructive and turning it into something positive.

Now imagine how much easier would have been if you just did the training, without that poison in your life.

You cannot go back in time to re-live those 7 years. But guess what?
You have 7-70 years ahead of you.

Just imagine how wonderful life is going to be in 7 years if you stay on the path that you've chosen and you make daily progress towards being the person you truly want to be.

Every day we can either step towards the light, or towards the darkness. We are the only ones that can decide which one of those is going to be. We are creating our destiny.

Never try to forget anything that happened in the last 7 years. This horrible period of time is going to be the foundation for your future life, and the source of your wisdom.

fitness in itself could be a debilitating addiction
The definition of addiction is compulsive behavior that you can't stop from doing, and is causing you harm.

The only moment when fitness becomes an addiction, is when you get badly injured as a result of your excessive training.

Exercising is a miracle for the brain and body, and all the successful people that I know are obsessed with fitness, so let's keep TRAINING HARD. :bolt:

I don't think this community can get any better than this.
I saw the awesomeness of this community today. A community that truly, honestly, appreciate real value. Anyone will find a warm home here if they provide value. The support is amazing. Lots of givers in here.

God bless you all.

I worked much like the whole day and was tired but wanted to continue. It is now 10pm in Uganda. But I felt tired an unable to continue. I wanted to sleep.

Then I decided to check the TFF. I kept seeing @Shono headlining here and there. Got hold of the thread and BOOM! . The guy is making everyone's day.

@Shono this thread you started has made my day. I got more fuel and knocked a chapter I wanted to postpone till later.

Feel more energised to knock off another before I go to bed.

In the morning I did 70 push-ups in 3 sets of 35, 20 and 15 and 70 squats in sets of 50 and 20.

Maybe at some point I will be doing 200.

That is some great optimization advice from @heavy_industry. Also proud of you Shono, have come a long way in short time. In addition, proud of this community as the support has been awesome and our pushup hero deserves it.

Thank you Private Witt. I appreciate the reddit post you made, and your support as well. I am grateful for you and this community.

I still have an incredibly long ways to go. I hope I can prove myself to you guys.

I don't think this community can get any better than this.

This is like a beacon of light and positivity, in a world filled with 0 sum minded people, wanting to grab and pull you back into the F*cking crab bucket.

Remember the statistics on being rich and happy, the ones that say that money is strongly correlated with happiness? I've learned this on the @Kak radio show.

It's happening because successful people are also good people. That's F*cking why.

High quality people end up living high quality lives. End of story.
Our life is truly a reflection of who we are.

I think it’s more correlated to a purpose driven life than someone blown around in whatever direction. The money is an effect not a cause.

But yes! The rich are happier with their work. They’re happier with their relationships too.

The biggest correlation was locus of control IMO. Strong internal makes people feel like they matter. Strong external makes people feel like they don’t.

I sincerely do not know. At least not with my current state of mind/confidence.

My ultimate dream is to become someone who can help others quit horrible addictions like video games/porn/alcohol because I suffered with those for a cumulative 20 year period, but I feel like that is something that has to come after I've already established myself, not the first thing I pursue, so I want to become successful first to show it can be done despite being set back so far. That is my goal in life as it stands.
Hey bro, maybe you could tell stories. Learn video editing. Create a story, use your training footage, and create a kickass brand on youtube.

Right now your video is pure grind and raw like a gem unfurnished. Some people will relate to it and a lot of people will not. The thing is some of the people in the majority are those who you want to help. (But the question is how can you reach them?) How do you turn the unfurnished video into a glistening gem and put on on the shelves for people?

People call it optimizing for retention, but it's really making the video digestible.

I happen to relate to the video as it is because I love training. Seeing you sweat made me want to do dips or pulls up with 90 lbs for maximum reps(but it's a rest day for me so I'll do it Friday).

Consider who is addicted to games, porn, alcohol, etc... This is Russel Brunson's dream customer concept if you wanna look into it after this post. On the top of my head(cause I was one of them) they're people who have wildly f*cked up dopamine levels and short attention spans as a result of their addictions(not talking dissing them, just the way things are). So if your target audience is them, you need to engineer your videos to combat those things and at the same time deliver value. That is your video's version of a polished gem.

Will they watch your video for 55 min and feel inspired? Or will they be more excited to watch a shorter video with the highlight parts, see your struggles, and learn your mindset along the way? (food for thoughts.)

In order to help them, you need a way to capture their attention span and provide them with just enough dosage of stimulation that they can learn from you. Go a step further, what age group do you see these people in? What language and words can you use in your video to further connect to them?

The thing is if you turn the training video into a narrative. Here's where I started...(addictions). This is why I hated it and needed to change(CTA). Here's how I did it(lay out the steps and tell what your video is about). Then set some stakes and make the video more interesting(tell them how people have tried the same thing as you but failed). Then get to the meat of the story and show you succeeding.

I think there is a large need for a solution to these problems. Matter of fact, they're problems that are evergreen. That means you can deliver a solution no one else can because If you look outside, someone is still struggling with porn. Someone is still struggling with games. Someone is still struggling with alcohol. Not everything is solved.

@Shono ... what were your takeaways from our chat last week? What's the one thing you aim to complete this week?

From Reddit was 750 views on the post with 67% upvotes and 3 upvotes showing. I'd guess a 100 or so views from there. While easy to watch on Reddit, I think to get credit for views I do believe they need to watch at least for 30 seconds to count? Sound like you got a lot of your views from your friend. You should cross collab with him if possible, make a win win and could be a huge boost.

That is some great optimization advice from @heavy_industry. Also proud of you Shono, have come a long way in short time. In addition, proud of this community as the support has been awesome and our pushup hero deserves it.

I was able to accomplish 12 rounds of sally up today thus breaking the current world record. Definitely the most physically taxing thing I’ve ever experienced.

View: https://youtu.be/t8Jthk6uZU0
Well, couple of things…

If that’s you in the video, you are a lot better looking and more athletic than your forum presence would indicate (lol)

You can definitely parlay that into money via YouTube videos, personal training, fitness advice, all kinds of stuff.

Have you read the books?

You are now on step 1 of taking action, which is exciting. You need to keep in mind that business is about what *other* people want and what you can do for them, not what you want and not even what you know or are capable of.

It’s the whole “to a hammer, everything looks like a nail” thing. Don’t think like a hammer. Instead, look at what needs to be built.

First of all, I will say my forum presence and my irl presence are almost identical in EVERY way.

And yes I have read the books, re-read them, took notes on the key points, segued into reading felix dennis and many other great entrepreneur books and my mindset is a complete 180 from before.

Now to the topic at hand... to me exercise is just very much a hobby. Since I no longer waste time with video games, or boozing, or netflix etc. Exercise is my one splurge that I invest time in. I have always loved high endurance training because it is the only thing that quiets the stressful thoughts out of my spastic head lol

But I never really attribute this kind of thing to action taking as a specific pursuit, I would like to do an e-commerce of some sort, or maybe first a cash flow venture like car detailing service locally so I can learn how to sell myself ( I heard somewhere that 80% of multimillionaires had a strong base in sales in the beginning ).

I only posted this because I am a man of my word and said i would post it, but I really appreciate all of you guys and your kind words, and maybe who knows, people are becoming much more health-oriented nowadays, I'll never say never to a potential opportunity.

Dude, I consider myself pretty fit, but that is some freak level stuff seriously.

You can 100% make something of this.

I side with those saying break the record and verify it. Start a fitness youtube channel, and break records.

You could 100% get huge.

I will keep grinding, it is tough out there at times, but for me I realize now my perceived deficits may as well be 95% mental. I need to stay positive and stay on a forward trajectory instead of getting all jacked up on the past, or rather I'll rewrite it as a gift that happened to empower me rather than burden me.

I watched this yesterday. Thought it would apply here today.

The background music and your facial expression hyped me up and I got off my chair and went into a muscle-flexing binge.

I had to go to the barbell and perform one set of squats to failure to calm down.

Congratulations @Shono

I tried on r/Fitness that has 11 million followers and was rejected as they don't take links. R/Pushups which is tiny one was rejected. Was able to get it to stick on r/GymMotivation which is 350kish.
I appreciate you. I mean it. I am not one to put myself out there really, but for you to go out of your way to do that, very kind of you. I feel bad, as I haven’t had much to offer back, hopefully one day if I become successful I can but, but for now I am immensely grateful.

I don't think this community can get any better than this.

The crab in the bucket mentality is so true, it appals me personally as recently I have encountered hypocritical full grown adults be condescending, and gossip, and try to be holier than thou, whilst placing their values only on completely superficial things. The typical shallow consumerist 'spend money to impress those who don't care,' while simultaneously trying to belittle others. Sometimes the more I interact new people, my hope in humanity wanes, but this forum has been a refreshing wellspring.

The biggest correlation was locus of control IMO.
I read somewhere that happiness is about 20% genetic, 30% circumstantial, and 50% based on ones own autonomy / ones ability to have control over their life, so it rings true. Although it makes sense also that people who are passionate about what they do generally have more breadth of experience, are more creative, more well rounded individuals. Also wisdom should translate to happiness I think, and experience leads to that.
@Shono this thread you started has made my day. I got more fuel and knocked a chapter I wanted to postpone till later.
Your post, and those of others here have made my day. I am honoured to hear I made any sort of positive impact to you. Good work on the pushups and squats, those are some very impressive numbers. Keep working hard and thanks for the positivity.
