I have done a pre launch before on products but never an app. We are looking to launch our iOS app in September 2016. We have created a landing page for our app with an email signup for when it's released. We have also tried social media and have had little response. We do not want to give away too much of our app details as we feel others would implement our new features. We are a social sharing platform that has a few new features not available as of now in other similar apps. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I haven't done an app before, but I just successfully launched a book (and learned a lot along the way). The marketing concepts should be extremely similar. I totally agree, doing a big pre-launch is the way to go.

I made the book free on launch day for a short period and built excitement toward that event. Email capture, social media, etc... all came into play.

Either way, you drop an app or book into an extremely crowded place. You have to find a way to make a splash or you'll disappear.

You can check out the results of my launch here: https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/co...ing-a-launch-company.69240/page-2#post-557850

I posted a lot about the process. You can see if it applies to you.

I just got finished reading your launch results. Thank you for sharing this information as it does seem it would also apply to launching an app. I think our biggest hurdle is going to be not releasing our key components of the app until the launch day nears closer. Thanks again.
