I've never seen slides.com - cool format. Perhaps you can start by listing your 7 tips from slide #36. I learned at least 2 new things about videos on facebook that I think are worth sharing but list all 7 and I'm sure you'll get some questions. That'll help a lot and provide lots of value here.

Thanks for the feedback! Just want to clarify, what do you mean by listing the 7 tips from slide 36? like a summary? Which 2 you think is the more valuable points?

I mean, paste the 7 tips here so you can explain and drop some value bombs. We like value bombs.

I always thought that landscape videos were the "correct" way to video. You offer an alternative view with a pretty good reason. I also thought the "silent friendly" tip was good.

ah yes! Thats a good point, for those who are reading here are the 7 Tips.

1_ Show your brand or main message upfront
2_ Make the video silent friendly
3_ Design the video with good rhythm and speed
4_ Create multiple bite size videos
5_ Try using square videos
6_ Upload video natively onto Facebook
7_ Make your videos short and fun

We work with Facebook often to create video contents for clients. They have strong data to support what kind of videos work well in their platform. The points above are some points we should take note of to stand out.

Ok, excellent. Now, remove the "we" (this isn't an ad) and replace with "you should".

Add a reason/paragraph/explanation/benefit for each point so we can understand why it's important.

Noted on that. I meant to say We (my video production company) work in collaboration with the Facebook team, to create videos for established brands so that their commercials make sense for mobile and Facebook feed environment.

Thanks for pointers Bill! Added some explanation below.

1_ Show your brand or main message upfront
For decades, the traditional TVC method builds their story slowly and shows the main message at the end of the video.
In today's mobile generation, our thumbs scroll at an average of 1.7s per content, we have to make sure our videos capture audiences's attention in the first 3 seconds, or they will likely to skip it.

2_ Make the video silent friendly
Most videos are viewed silent on mobile. We have to make sure the video messages are not lost when silent.

3_ Design the video with good rhythm and speed
Viewers can absorb information at really fast speed now. Videos that are snappy and to the point tends to have better retention rate.

4_ Create multiple bite size videos
When planning to create video contents, experiment telling your stories in multiple short videos instead of a long version because people will likely to finish 15s videos compare to a longer 90s video.

5_ Try using square videos
This is huge simply the fact that it converts better. Square videos will appears 78% bigger in a mobile newsfeed than landscape videos.

6_ Upload video natively onto Facebook
Facebook's algorithm favours videos uploaded natively, expect to see better results compare to videos uploaded on other platforms like Youtube or Vimeo.

7_ Make your videos short and fun
The top performing videos in Facebook focuses on short videos that appeals people's desire to create and accomplish.
Eg. make a complicated task looks easy and fun.

Anybody who like to find out more you can view it here

You may also download the pdf version (instruction on the last few pages) but the video examples attached will not be available.

Thank you!

I edited my my last post because it may have come across as a little demanding - not my intention.

Excellent, thanks for elaborating, I think that'll help a few people on here.

Hello @Davidlee and welcome to the forum.
What would you suggest to someone who has to make an explainer video but is on a budget?
Are there any DIY websites?
Or maybe some other options?
Thanks And again welcome :)

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Just curious, for video editing, do you prefer FinalCut Pro or Sony Vegas? Or do you guys use something else? Cheers

Usually we use Adobe Premiere for video editing and After effects for motion graphics work. FinalCut seems to be less preferred among the editors over the years.

Lots of opportunity online right now to market your skills if your video production quality is A+

Video ads/commercials/reviews/in depth product videos work extremely well in showing and telling customers what the product/brand is all about.

@Davidlee and @I AM THE SENATE , Do either of you have experience in doing videos for products or Product brands?

Here are the videos we produced. Works

I do agree with you, video contents is the new norm online, and if we can produce it well there will be lots of opportunity!
Do you do videos yourself?

Wow, that's some pretty nice work with some very high profile names. You are clearly an experienced team that can walk the walk. Amazing job!

As for me, no I don't do videos myself. Unless you count really poor product videos done with my cell phone and only minor edits with iMovie lol.

I think you are in a prime position to fulfill some big needs that exist in the market right now for high quality product video creation specialists. If you can figure out how to get in front of those people at a price that is worth it, you can make out very well in your own fastlane.

How much do you charge for a typical 30sec or 1 minute videos for a brand or product?

I honestly know nothing about your business so if these questions are out of line please just let me know and don't answer lol. I just get excited when I see people on the verge of something big.

Yes! nice to meet a fellow Singaporean too! Share with me what you do too =D

I am currently a stay home dad, would be taking my step into the fastlane by first earning some funds by ecommerce on our local platform Qoo10. Will be focusing on filling the market void and improving on products that I can find from alibaba and taobao in my particular niche. Further moving on to creating new products under my own brand to truly become a fastlane business.

Taking one small step at a time now. Hope to hear more from you!

Interesting! My mind just entered a new room. I've been toying with ali-express but taking something cheap and improving it is some next level sideways thinking. Except every time I go there it absorbs more time than social media used to.

Totally not my idea! I have been reading the GOLD AMA threads by @biophase , @Ecom man and @Walter Hay. I got it from there. A ton of information!

I feel it makes total sense as there are a lot of products in my niche that I can think of improvements for, albeit small improvements. As long as I can find the manufacturer to make it for me in the quantity that I can afford (not much for now).

The sheer amount of products and suppliers gives me a headache every time, but you got to do what you got to do lol.
