If I were to live anywhere else it would be the states. I've been to most of Europe and a handful of others but hands down driving across America was by far one of the best experiences of my life.

Bit miffed I missed this when it was hot though, woulda been fun to wind up that idiot.

I enjoy this thread. It's interesting to learn how our country is perceived by others. I always thought we were perceived as arrogant and in some cases rightfully so. I'm happy living in the U.S.A. if I was miserable, you bet your a$$ I would move. Why? Because I can.

I think most will agree the US federal government is less than favorable. But all the hate for Americans is insane. I needn’t mention the countless inventions and technological advancements already stated by @G-Man and others.

It’s easy to forget the billions of aid dollars sent around the world, by Americans, every year, to only focus on the negatives.

The entire western civiliation (yes you Europeans are included), can thank the imperialist policies of the USA and UK. You’re enjoying the spoils of war. Read it and weep.

It may be favorable to do some research on democide, particularly a study done by the University of Hawaii. Democide in the 20th century killed 3-4x more people than all wars between any and all nations, foreign and civil, combined.

But it’s fine, continue to deplore America and enjoy your little utopia with your entirely warped world view.

And the last time I checked, there is no where on this planet, except for America, where a person born into absolute poverty can build a multimillion (sometimes billion) dollar company, changing their own life and all of the lives they touch, impacting the course of history forever.

Nobody is deploring America or americans, i respect americans and ofc americans are not their government and media, also it's common sense people from ANY country have risen from poverty to that, even in the poorest countries and it's a fact.

It's not that the criticisms of the state of the States are invalid... it's not that the United States hasn't strayed from the ideals of personal liberty and minarchy, it's that whining about it is completely and absolutely counter productive.

Look folks, you can be a force for change in the world, a beacon in the darkness... or you be someone who spews venom on the internet.

You can't be both.

I thought that was exactly what should be said. Don't like it, do the work and change it. Many fastlane businesses were built on that principle.

whoaa dont know how this thread turned into the topic of LGBT rights in Russia, but regardless of what someone wrote in the "holy grail" which is wikiepedia, i 100% agree with Putin's law.

It's not illegal to be LGBT in Russia at all, it's illegal to teach that stuff to kids, i support that.

I live in New York City and i saw subway ads saying it was officially illegal to prevent a transexual from using the restroom of their choice. So if i have a young daughter going to the bathroom, some dude pretending to be a chick can go in that same bathroom. Not cool, bring Putin here.
