Hey guys,

I am thinking of using Twitter ads for awareness campaigns if the Facebook ads turn out to be expensive. Use Twitter as the first touch point.

At the moment I am considering this to offer website services in India.

Have you had any luck? What was the experience, and which industry did you try it in?

I have never used Twitter ads to advertise a product or service. But, I've used sponsored posts to engage markets (with polls, questions, links to relevant content on my site or a client site) and seen good results in terms of engagement and new followers in the relevant market.

Great question @minivanman. It will be depend on the ROI to determine if the ads are expensive.

At the moment I don't have the offer ready to sell it. So right now I am testing the waters to see if I can find interested audience for cheap.

Nice name btw.

How will you determine if Facebook ads are too expensive?

Snapchat works very well to get cheap clicks to your site, I suggest trying that out alongside facebook.

For practical purposes its discount codes. Ever wonder why they give them out? Its to differentiate organic traffic from paid traffic; this way whenever someone enters the "bonus10" code for a 10% discount you're reasonably sure that it came from paid traffic. Like advertising this process takes repetition, time, and a money.

Yeah it cuts into margins, that's the cost of consumer feedback.

It really depends on who are you are engaging, having advertised for every demographic and industry (minus sex and guns) for SEM. The first thing I would do is lookup user demographics by platform for India, who knows maybe there's some Indian site you've never heard about. See how the demographics overlap with your target market and guesstimate a best fit, test it and reassess periodically.

Demographics goes very in depth. ie; if you are selling a large complicated purchase to working parents, you'd probably want to avoid advertising during the day since its not enough time for the average person at work to make a large decision. They are more likely to do it in the evenings when they get home and have time, this may cut advertising costs by half.

There's also a world of difference for the platforms between text, image and video ads; read up on that. As for writing ads it depends on your budget, time, and potential return.

If you want to do it yourself here's a good resource:

As for money, see what I replied to above; you gotta figure out how much paying customers your ads are bringing in over time vs the cost of the ads themselves. Costs cannot be divorced from revenue.

No, I've never wondered. I've known for 30+ years. But, others might not know so it is good to have out there so others can see it. Maybe some people never knew.

Interesting @MoreVolume.
Didn't know Twitter was cool with adult advertising. Is this in the USA location?

I wanted to use Twitter for dating niche as well along with website services.
When it comes to porn, Twitter is the Wild West, which is great for my business lol
I am indeed in the US

There are all kinds of communities on Twitter. Find the right strategy and you can gain eyeballs to your business

IMO you’ll gain more traction using someone else’s page. Create a post that will be a good ad for your product. Text and media. Find popular pages within your niche and DM asking for ad space on their page. A pinned tweet is best. This is what has worked for me, as my page only has 1K followers and hashtags don’t work on Twitter like they do on IG

Here’s how to play the twitter game:

Engagement > Ads on twitter.

Optimize your bio for your niche and offer.

Put a lead magnet in your bio to grab email addy.

Tweet actionable content.

Look for big accounts in your niche or related.

Go engage with people that engage with their tweets.

DM 30 a day.

Prioritize sending people into your email list over selling on twitter.

Sell them with 3-4 emails a week.

Go for volume over sales.

Selling is overrated.

If you do enough volume sales won’t be a problem.

The next step is to find a way to automate this while keeping personalization in mind.

Find a bot that can help you reach out to 30-100 people a day.

Automating engagement is everything now.

Volume. Volume. Volume.

If you aren’t selling enough, your problems isn’t sales.

It’s Volume.

You can use Ads.

But that can quickly get expensive.

For starters (like me) organic methods should be priority numero uno.

If you were to reach out to 1M-5M people on social media.

Targeted.

Grabbed a CPA offer from an affiliate program that fits the niche.

Even with an email open rate of <5%,

You can potentially make $1k-10k.

I get pages to pin my “commercial” tweet. Works pretty well

with that being said I am in the adult industry
