The size of your list will be a function of the traffic to your site and how much of the traffic you can capture to the list. People don't give their email as freely these days so 1) make a great offer 2) be sure to make the offer look trustworthy. This list I'm attempting to grow has 906 addresses. I'm looking to 10x it in 60 days. I know that's a HUGE goal but hey, that's why we're in the Fastlane right?
I'm looking for how others have done this.
For me, I've occasionally had sites out of the blue take an article and blast it to their lists. I've contacted them about doing something on a regular basis and they only pick those that interests them.
Hopefully we can start to make a list of how others have grown their lists (I'm not selling anything), providing information for now.....
I give away a free ebook that they would usually need to pay for. I then follow it up with a large discount on a course I sell - the course is never discounted other than to new subscribers.
The other thing you will need to do is drive the traffic to your site. I rely on organic traffic but you could use PPC advertising. If you decide on PPC advertising the need to have a great offer to capture the traffic becomes even more important.
Something that I have done in the past is write free, high articles for large sites in my niche. The only requirement was that they named me as the author and had a link to my site. Probably the most successful of these captured an additional 100-150 subscribers in a day from the traffic generated, but that was probably 5 years ago now.
