#1 is spot-on. Nothing like being miserable to get you thinking like a producer. When I was young my parents made me do a lot of shit work at the greenhouse that's been in our family for generations, and years later they admitted that was exactly why: they wanted me to see just how badly a SHIT job sucked so I would wind up wanting to avoid that at all costs.

I can relate alot to #1 as well. it's what made me take action to start my internet business. it's funny because, for the longest time I worked my a$$ off through school and out of school to get into a company like Ubisoft, for like 7 years of my life. When I got there I was like SWEET! but after about 8 months to a year, i hated it with a passion. the thought of doing that job for 40 years is excruciating. especially being paid barely nothing, i thought working in games would make me rich or at least wealthy. but that is far from the truth. a lesson learned I guess. time to move forward.
