---------------

Three years ago, lived Steffen Kabbelgaard and seven other graduates boys in an empty room at Aalborg University. No one knew that they lived here, but they worked around the clock on their dream - to develop and finalize the computer game Forced.

We rewind three years, and the location is now Northwest Copenhagen. Steffen and the others have a hard time getting my arms down, and they shall no longer worry about their million debt to the bank. They have just released their game, and it goes beyond all expectations. Since its launch on Thursday night, there are already about 40,000 who have downloaded it, while two and a half million dollars so far is wheeled into the apparently empty account.

- It is much, much wilder than I had expected. They say that a young game company that has not developed anything before, should be happy just to go to zero financially. But we are already where we can afford to develop for a year, says 28-year-old Steffen Kabbelgaard to mx.dk, adding that he and business BetaDwarfs other shareholder can now redeem their million debt.

First item on the agenda now is to make the game better, but the great success also provides the opportunity to live out plans to go to war to make a sequel. Before then, however, the team just spend a little time to recover from the launch.

- We have not really grasped it yet. We sat up all night between Thursday and Friday, and we could not help but run around the apartment, says Steffen Kabbelgaard.

The story went viral
success may be due in part to Forced got a lot of attention, as Steffen shared Beta Dwarfs story on the popular network media Reddit and Imgur. The story of the young programmers who illegally lived in a classroom for seven months before they were discovered. About that they then found the cheapest house that could be rented in Denmark, and lived in Karlslunde, the money was used up. In the three years went on and on, and finally borrowed a million dollars in the bank to make the dream a reality.

The story of that dream became a reality, was a hit among the more than one million people who have seen the advertisement. And although it is sometimes more so than hard out, Steffen has even been strong in his faith in the project through all three years.

- I absolutely. But I may not have had such high expectations for it. We have some friends in Germany who launched a game a few months ago. They sold 4,000 copies and has gone completely screwed now. It was hard to look at, he says.

But that was not therefore go BetaDwarf and Forced to here during the first few days have been some quite honest reviews. The game itself is essentially based on the stories of the ancient gladiators, while it is spiced with some elements that can be found across multiple game genres.

- For game connoisseurs people will probably first think that it's just Diablo. But it has a more arcade-like feeling, because you have to start over when you die. So you can call it a mix between Diablo and Super Mario, says Steffen Kabbelgaard, adding that the game is best when several people are playing together.

Forced published on the platform Steam, and it can be played both on PC, Mac and Linux. Beta Dwarf is in talks with both Sony and Microsoft to launch the game on their next consoles, while there is a deal with Nintendo. In the meantime, you can download it to your computer for just 85 crowns here .
