Wow so after becoming unemployed this past week I was obviously down on my luck. Then I made the mistake of insulting a respected member of the LamboPower forums on Sportbikes.net and after apologizing and wiping the egg off my face I registered on LamboPower and found out about this wonderful forum!!!

Now it's time for me to take the biggest "waste" of my time in viewing posts on message boards and actually do something productive since I have found one that is about what I want to do... BECOME A SUCCESSFUL ENTREPENEUR!!!!

Best of all, it is all MLM garbage free, unlike all the crap I got when I posted my resume on Monster and CareerBuilders in fact I think in just the last 5yrs I have seen EVERY type of MLM you could think of... of course I never bought into any, but the waste of time to hear the schpiel was enough of a waste, but enough of that, time to learn the tips I need to be successful, as far as a path I am thinking either real-estate, accounting(need to learn from my dad who's a CPA and get either my own EA and CPA certificates), or a start-up.

I know it all starts with an idea and while we all have 'em, it's the ones who pursue those ideas that become successful!

As for my background I got a BA from University of Illinois back in Aug of '07 and bought my first property this March(from my parents) and as my dad is a CPA who only works the tax-season and makes a yr's worth of income(although he works about a yr's worth of hours in 4.5 months), I would like to learn the trade and expand on the business/clientel that he has built up.

Glad your here. I would advise reading the legendary threads first then some of the personal stories to get an idea of what the fast lane is about.

If you read one minute millionaire you know there are three mountains to choose from

Real Estate
Building a business
Stocks and exchanges

Pick one mountain to climb or all three!

Have fun

Welcome to the board!

thanks, I know #1 rule is to not work for anyone else as a j.o.b. is only for someone else to make profit from utilizing your talents, usually you're paid just enough to make you not want to quit and is why most of my friends are working 9-5 jobs that end up being 60-70hrs a week. This is after working nights and weekends just to keep their jobs and try for that 5% percent raise... the sad thing is most tell me that they're doing it to learn the industry and eventually branch out on their own, but that's where the employers are smart b/c they know to keep a hold on their employees and eventually suck out all the dreams and goals until they have 'em for life!!!

as for me, I don't EVER want to fall into that trap and would rather go through several cycles of failure b4 I succeed than to have a life-time of "just enough" to live on...

Correction, there are FOUR mountains! The above mentioned AND Ebiz/internet!

Welcome to the board, I'm glad you finally announced your arrival. That small insult could have been a small choice that will lead your future!

It's also good to have another bike enthusiast on here!

I prefer to think of life as a mountain range, and I'm always up for a little exploring.

ah yes, if it wasn't for insulting that member of LamboForums the chain reaction of going there, registering and posting and having your recommendation of this forum and registering would've never happened :P

that's why they say life works in mysterious ways and despite losing a somewhat prosperous e-biz recently(it made enough profit to pay the bills, but was not really the type of work I wanted to do and had no room for expansion), I still feel I can come out ahead and most importantly find something that I not only really WANT to do, but that I'm really GOOD at!!!

I prefer to think of life as a mountain range, and I'm always up for a little exploring.

and I do love traveling myself and always finding something new to accomplish(i.e. running my first marathon this Oct)... I'm just hoping I can translate these to my professional life and use the connections and things I learned from my travels to become successful in business AND from accomplishments such as the marathon see first-hand the age-old saying that life is a "marathon, not a sprint"... and that it takes those small steps of 4 weekly training runs, building up distance progressively, to ultimately achieve that goal and even after it is achieved to have a new goal to shoot for!!!

Welcome!

I'd definitely recommend reading the Success Stories here -- they'll keep you motivated and show you that your dreams are, in fact, realistic and achievable.

Glad to have ya here.

lol, having owned one for 8yrs I wouldn't quite say "respect" ;)

but yea it is in reference to the 3kgt VR4, I have a 91 w/ 155K and the "playa" part is kinda interesting since I never really considered myself one, just like the word I guess...

lol, having owned one for 8yrs I wouldn't quite say "respect" ;)

I had to upgrade the turbos on a VR4 once.......................there was no respect coming from me at that time. :bgh:

It ended up being a very quick car though.

yea it's definitely not for the weak of heart when it comes to upgrades/service/repairs... but it is a rewarding experience when you can do it yourself although there is plenty of help on ANYTHING you could want to know on 3si
