Where is the best place to find good programmers? I'm thinking of starting a website and don't want to just go to the first one I find, I'd like to know where I can find some good ones that I can interview and compare.

Apto offers development, but for comparisons you'd need to go somewhere like www.elance.com . I'm in the same boat, I', just trying to figure out how to present what I need in a fashion that doesn't give everything away. Anyone else have any ideas?
