So I read a thread the other day on how someone was cleaning people’s houses for money. So understanding Macgyverism strategy in TGRE.

I did a little experiment last week by joining Nextdoor.com and posting to see if anyone needs computer help and that I was willing to solve their problems.

One person actually messaged me stating that he his daughter was coming from college and actually needed help with her computer problems.

I may have my first client next week. Looking to charge anywhere between $50 to $100 dollars.

Next I’ll try to post up on some Facebook Groups and see if I get any bites for this service.

Sadly I don't... and I don't think I want to do it haha! I would mess up and then owe the person money.

Update (03/13/2023):

Client from NextDoor, texted me. Looking to schedule something this week to Fix laptop. I will set something up and will diagnose his issue.

Update (03/15/2023):

Nothing so far, I'll give him a text later today to see how the progress went. I advised him to hook up a secondary monitor to his daughters laptop. Going through the process of elimination, I am hoping or trying to see if It's just a display issue.

No update so far, just texted him. He seems a bit busy. I'll wait for a reply, later down the line.

Okay nothing really happening on this front. The guy kept his daughter's laptop, he said he will text me sometime this week to see when we can meet.

On another note, I had connected with a gentlemen over a Facebook group about flipping/reselling cheap/used books onto Amazon and said that he was doing pretty well making $2k-$3k net. I guess the value of doing this as a side-hustle would be that other people might be looking for books on Amazon they can't find locally.

He gave me a huge amount of information on how to get started. He said he did this on weekends and within about 6 months he was able to quit his job to do this full-time. Even for a side hustle this could scale fast.

I had this idea that I am going to do and see the potential results. I will post up on Facebook Groups and NextDoor to create organic reach and then offer a "Free Book Pickup Service" for people who have books that they don't want anymore. This actually worked in the past and I had a scanner that I would then use to get information on how much I could re-sell books. It honestly worked out great... I just didn't continue it... Sad. But I really want to give this a go!

Have you tried using Reddit ? You can find plenty of people here who need help with their laptops.

You could help someone a bit and then, ask for a price.

I don't know what to say about the book flipping business. If you tried befor and saw the demand, the you're good.
