Most registrars offer domain locks. Activate that so it won't allow any transfer initiatives.

If someone hacks the account and changes account info, you should get an email notification. All domain activities are typically emailed to your account on file.

I thought this question might be interesting to individuals in the E-business.

How safe is your domain name after you have registered it through the registrar? Meaning, for example, you register your domain name through Godaddy, is there any means of precautions to take to ensure a third party cannot take the domain name from your account (by hacking it), and possibly de-registering the domain?
