'At your events, have your epic Moments.'

And yes eepic. Double e [emoji12]

Would love to hear true thought.

Thanks!

Doesn't matter

When we came up with our name, my guys said it's cool I guess, but what does it mean?

I replied, what does Apple mean? Intel? Dyson? Nothing, until they made it mean something

True. Something only becomes cool if it associated with substance and value. The name itself should have basic appeal... Apple is better than Kumquat.

The name 'eepic' sounds like it's saying e-Pic, does your business do online photos?

Here's what I think you should do:
- Make an introduction thread
- Make moves (name shouldn't be number one priority)
- Start finding clients, you can do that before you even have a business name
- Once you have everything else in place -- marketing strategy, marketing tactics, website, your process etc THEN you can worry about a name

Your name means nothing if there's no business to represent it.

But they are all common/recognisable/easy-to-spell words. Eepic is not.

As a basic I would say you should be able to tell someone the business name/domain/email without having to confirm the spelling. I know 'some' successful businesses don't, but why create extra work?

If it's a customer facing company name, just grind out 100 - 200 ideas as quickly as you can and then pick the one that keeps getting stuck in your head and you keep coming back to.

Also:

- Make it short and easy to spell
- Try to make it unique
- Make sure you can get the social media and domains for it
- A self-descriptive name goes a long way for a new company to avoid the "what does this brand do?" questions that will pop up

When I was coming up with my company name I spent almost 5 days on it. That was 4 days too long IMHO and I was pretty upset at myself for wasting that much time. I came up with about 2 dozen names I was happy with but had a very hard time finding the domains and social accounts for them so I kept having to come up with new options.

Bottom line is it's not a step to get hung up on for an significant length of time. Get it done, move on.
