IMO, choose and buy a different .com domain. It's a de-facto standard domain name, it gets auto-appended when you press Ctrl+Enter in the URL line in your browser, and people are much more used to a .com domain.
Then, if your business is successful, it won't be a problem to buy the domain you originally wanted.
After all, facebook started with thefacebook.com, then bought facebook.com when they could afford it.
