Been spending some time on ChatGPT, holy shit this thing is insane, a total Google killer.

It in effect, is like the Star Trek "computer" for those of you familiar with Star Trek.

This thing already likely saved me 3 hours of my time in a matter of 10 seconds.

I haven't been this impressed with a new technology in 15 years, the last time being the Apple iPhone replacing a flip-phone.

It can spit out computer code for you in seconds, stuff that would take 10 different Google searches amount 100 different results filled with SEO manipulated filler and garbage.

If you're a writer, this thing will help you describe scenes in foreign countries, write dialogue in different types of personalities, and conquer blocks in a matter of seconds.

The utility in this application is beyond belief.

The old way: 1) Search Google, 2) Sift through mountains of "SEO'd" pages filled with filler 3) Spend 20 minutes finding the right passage on the right page.

Time: 15m

The new way: 1) Ask ChatGPT

Time: 15s

Here is what ChatGPT responded with how to make money.

I couldn't have answered better myself.

Literally had no idea what this was until 2 min ago when I saw this lol.

I typed in “how do I generate leads for my service business” and it gave me ACTUAL suggestions and techniques.

Interesting

How's this for accuracy?

I was listening to a podcast yesterday that was talking about either this or something similar, I forget the name.

It had ai chat of different people.

You could talk to elon musk, or Socrates etc

Sounded insane, they were reading their conversations and it was so accurate and human like. Laughing at things that were jokes but had absolutely no context to suggest were jokes, it just knew

Looks like my first thought was the same as yours, use it to get business coaching from elon musk

Edit: since this became a thread
Here’s the podcast

The talk to elon thing
Character.ai

Really cool tool that does things for you

Please post more! Your post got me looking into it, and that led to me finding out that a friend of mine is already using it to write code for him. This is epic.

Wow, I love everything else about this program.

But...this is probably a limitation of the sources it is pulling from - namely the internet, Google, other search engines.

The bias is probably not an inherent part of the program's code but rather built into the sorting of the internet itself... crazy!

amazon takes anywhere from 20-60% of the sales just from ads (not even including their FBA costs)

if you want to support a smaller brand, don't click the amazon ads that say "sponsored" - just scroll down a little to find the same product
1670300584707.png

and for big brands that you don't like but still buy from, click the sponsored ad every time

that's right - the 175 parameter AI tool that is coming for your job writes at a 7th grade level!

but its ability to write code is sick and there are a lot of cool uses for something like this

it will probably be better than Google for learning a lot of skills

1670300928512.png

somebody make a youtube comedy channel using this thing lmao

I did one that was a pirate battle written in the style of Napoleon dynamite and it did not disappoint.

I tried Googling different phrases/sentences from ChatGPT to see if it was lifting it directly from another source, and repeatedly, as long as I quoted most or all of a sentence (in quotation marks when I searched), there were no sources with that exact wording. So the AI is plagiarism-proof, truly creating what it is saying and not just lifting it word for word.

New thread created...

So sad to see the rampant bias in this thing, but my guess that is a function that most of the internet is controlled by a left-leaning power structure, so it is simply drew from an available knowledge base. From what I was told, it is not connected to the internet and is using info from pre 2021 data.

That said, this APP is worth paying for and it is now bookmarked and on my iPhone's home page.

Check out the dreamcloud YouTube channel. He shows how different AI tools can create scripts, read them, create scenes, and even music.

I may have a play over Christmas and see if I can create some story with accompanying video.

A couple of days ago my son messaged me that he has been using this to write product descriptions for his products. I then started playing with it to write story-based product descriptions for some of our own products. It's scary good.

These United States
I haven't tried this one out, but last year, I worked on a project, helping to train/provide training feedback for a similar AI.

The pitfall that specific AI had was it spoke with so much confidence, but often contained factual errors. So it might write you the history of Mesopotamia, or whatever, but several dates and events in it are fabricated.

So if anyone intends using these AIs for anything consequential, it's important to fact check it afterward.

1 million users in 5 days? Imagine if a year went by. ChatGPT could mainstream really quick, even better, could be integrated into smartphones in the later years after it's initial development and being polished. You could get answers in seconds. Why have it as an app when you might be able to integrate it into the OS's software itself. The same functionality of what Alexa and Cortana do today. This could be the replacement alternative, thus bringing value to the entire civilization as a whole. Intergrate voice recognition with ChatGPT for search queries and you have just evolved Alexa and Cortana into a massive mean machine haha! The only caveat is that your smartphone device would have to stay connected to the internet since storing a database of information of that size would be impossible for offline use.

Let's just hope that this technology is not controlled or used for malicious or propaganda intent.

Value Skew/Opportunity: Reducing the amount of time and effort it takes to find a sufficient/effective answer to questions when searching in today's Search Engines such as Google, Bing, or Yahoo.com.

Interesting.

This kind of technology has been predicted by the creator of the web, Tim Berners-Lee, 20 years ago:

In a 2001 discussion of the Semantic Web, Tim Berners-Lee and others gave examples of ways in which intelligent software "agents" may one day automatically crawl the web and find, filter, and correlate previously unrelated, published facts for the benefit of human users.[85]

I'm not sure if this thing crawls the web or pulls data from a database, but it's only a matter of time until we will see search engines that use search engines in order to aggregate data and do the research for you.

Maybe today it sounds unthinkable.
But the modern internet/web was also unthinkable 30 years ago.

Looks like it scrapes and finds your answer from the internet itself.
