Buying and keeping profitable websites. Good idea or not?

I know some people might frown upon copying other's ideas, but I think it's a good idea. I could start off buying just a few websites and then work my way up in number. Doing this I'd like to get gross daily revenue up to 1k. Eventually getting it all the way to 5k to 10k per day. I will need to learn how to manage the websites though to keep them running.

Thoughts?
