I posted on here a few weeks ago as I felt like I was at a crossroads. I’ve been enjoying teaching Engish for a Chinese company for a while now, whilst simultaneously researching other ways to make money online and reading business titles as this kind of wage alone just isn’t enough. I know that I love teaching and it comes easily to me and I find it fulfilling. I love languages too and I know that I want to be able to do my job on a laptop at home or abroad. I feel like I’ve joined up most the of the dots here so far. I just want to earn a lot more doing it and think I can do this by opening my own school that fulfills a particular niche customer and then eventually scale and bring some other teachers on board.
The problem is I am lacking in sales and marketing expertise. I know what I want in my curriculum, but I want to find an easy and fast way to create the lessons too.
I have found a coach who says he can help with all of this and develop me in these areas. I requested to meet with one of his existing clients on skype, it all seems fairly legitimate and she’s been happy with his services so far, she has a few new customers, I think she is using these just as guinea pigs at the moment as she hasn’t started proper marketing yet as this happens towards the end of the six months . He has offered to work with me one hour a week for 6 months to develop a functioning business for $5k/£4k-ish (I work in pounds). He has said he can help me develop packages of lessons sold for a higher rate as its niche targeted.
Thoughts on this please.
