Hello there, I Recently read a book by Grant Cardone, which is really good. He's one of the best selling books, there is actually a lot of value in the book. It is called Sell or be Sold. He published other books but I don't have a lot of information about them, as I didn't read them.

It is hard to give you very specific advice about how to assemble an effective sales team without first knowing what it is you are selling and who your customer base is.

Are you selling low cost, low risk widgets? Is it something that can be shown, understood, and sold to the average person in 5 minutes?

Are you selling transactional products or services? Is there a relationship with your customer beyond the point of sale? Should you be looking for a "hard closer" or a "relationship builder"?

Are you selling to inbound inquiries, referrals, or warm leads? How are your salespeople going to get in contact with your target customers? What exactly is your sales team going to be doing on a daily basis?

Is one salesperson all that is required in order to close the business? Does the product include inherent complexity which would need to be explained by an engineer or technical person?

Answer some of these questions for yourself and it will help determine what kind of salespeople you need to hire. Some sales roles can be filled by a "John Doe" off the street and others require more precise tactics to attract the correct talent.
