Does anyone know a good way to do this at affordable prices? Or any suggestions for businesses or services that do this? I need to import multiple products to Chile.

For example, there are services such as DHL and similar companies. However, charge very high fees and rates are nothing suitable. Sometimes they double the original price of the product.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Air courier charges can be very high to most countries, but you have probably been quoted "Schedule" rates. These are the rates paid only by those who don't know any better.

Schedule rates are rarely paid because they are subject to negotiation, and a good objective for you to aim at is %0% discount, although bigger discounts are often given. If you are quoted a good rate, make sure you get the quote in writing.

Without knowing the volume, the number of packages, package size, package weight etc., I cannot advise more specifically, but if you are planning on shipping multiple packages and the weight exceeds 100 kg., I suggest you contact a freight forwarder. Here is a link that will find over 100 of them for you in Chile: http://www.cargoyellowpages.com/. Enter Chile in the Search by Country box at the top right of the page.

For any other questions, please post on my AMA thread.

This has been a great help. Thank you very much for sharing this resource, Walter.

For two weeks I contacted at least 30 companies, and now I have a business deal with 1.

You are very welcome Fernando. With my experience in both export and import for most of my life, I can find almost any resource needed.

It is good to see that a simple link can help so much.
