Here is my idea..

We have a room in the office without windows. There are several guys who work in this room and they always complain that it's very depressing not to see day light.

So I was thinking what if to place a few flat monitors shaped like windows that would translate a view like you are in Paris looking at Eiffel Tower? The implementation will be pretty simple, just a Monitor connected to the internet and hooked up with a feed that translates video in good quality from places like Paris or a Caribbean beach by your choice. You can change themes, like one day you are in Paris the next day you are in Rome :) To earn extra money you can charge customers for the data stream and different views.

Variations... a customer can use their own existing monitors or TVs and project live video from interesting places for some $. Not sure maybe something like this already exist?

What do you think?

Thank you,
M

How about getting everyone in that dark depressing dungeon cut off from the world a copy of the Millionaire Fastlane so they can escape that hell hole of an office, maybe start a successful business, move into their own offices with panoramic views and an income that allows them to visit France on vacation and see the Eiffel tower up close and personal and enjoy the Caribbean sunshine for a few weeks every winter :)

here is one more thing... 50% of the condos in the area where I live are lofts. It means that they have a living room with a wall window and a bed-room without a window.

I believe the people working there actually lack a bit more than day light, because I think if you bring flat screens over there the... artificial feeling (probably combined with the radiation from the screens)/ the disconnection from nature will probably increase and they'll still feel not so good. So maybe it's not necessarily the view they lack, but a feeling of "natural".

As a manager, I would make sure that: the air in that room is always fresh; the artificial light is warm white (not cold white, very important) and plenty; some warm color accents or natural wood items/ panels might be welcome as well; a good wallpaper with an inspiring landscape is a very good idea too (although maybe this should be replace periodically to avoid boredom).
Just my thoughts.
