This might seem simple, but that's the magic of it.

Get a log book and write down the date. Write down all the realistic goals you want to achieve that day.

Every time you complete a goal, check it off the list.

If you try your best, but don't finish a goal due to time, write "incomplete" next to it. Then, the next day, add that goal to your daily list.

Do this every day.

Setting and logging mini-goals does 3 things:

1. Makes you action take, not action fake.

2. Breaks down huge goals into easy ones.

3. Reminds yourself of everything you've accomplished.

This has honestly improved my motivation after struggling for a long time. Let me know if it helps you!

I've been doing this for about a year and with success. I also use a subdivision in the type of tasks:

Now -> Most important tasks of today
Next -> Only when you've completed the 'now' tasks
Not yet -> When you're super productive and completed the 'now' and 'next' tasks

Feels really good!

The first time I tried, I had 10 goals until the end of the year (9 months). I felt I was being very modest and realistic, yet it took 3 years to accomplish 2 or 3 and make significant progress on another 3. However, the exercise has been very helpful. It made me realize that I had way too many goals and had to stop taking on new commitments.
