The title of my thread says it all. Ever since I was 17 I have been reading self help and entrepreneurial material.

It's been seven years and I'm always thinking about starting some type of online business but I never do anything. I just continue, thinking about it.

I've gotten to a point where I can't take it anymore. Before I turn 25 I want to have something rolling. What's the point of having so much knowledge about business and not doing anything with it.

Lately I've been noticing posts that urge people to stop analyzing and start taking action. People were making businesses before the internet so you don't need to know everything in the world to start a business.

From this point on I will not surf the internet for any ideas. The only forum and webpage I will visit it fastlane forum and anything that directly connects to my business. Anything other than fastlane forum or something directly connected to my business is out of the question.

It seems that I have this grandiose idea of someday making it big but every week is just the same old thing. Me at home F*cking around while getting drunk. Like I am right now.

So today I want to make this post to get some motivation from others and to hold myself accountable. I never post anything online nor do I ever talk about starting a business to anyone. Maybe by telling you guys
what kind of business I want to start you can make me feel accountable in actually starting it and not just talking about it.

If I get at least one response to this post I would post my business plan and how I will go from thinking about making it big. To actually making it big.

P.S. Personal Monetary Value: -$5000

Agree with that. I usually like to read stuff and surf this forum and other forum too but when I think deeply, I may be just use it as a form of procrastination and I didn't do anything. So just today, I make my first real step and contact somebody that related to my business to progress further.

I know that action speak louder than any words.

i disagree with people saying you should block this site because we need like minded people to succeed

we need to reach them with their books, audio, video, whatever but this is better to communicate with them.

we need mentors, a virtual mastermind group and various very successful entrepreneurs have mastermind groups or have created them.

we don't have enough time to reinvent the wheel so to speak , losing years failing in business whereas other people know how to go to the next level in life and can lead us.

Stop drinking, stop watching porn (if you do), stop hanging out with negative people.

Start sleeping well, lifting weights and eating clean.

Get up early, have a daily list of 5 items, set 3 main goals for the month and focus on those.

The biggest things blocking most people starting our habits, lifestyle and friends. Get yourself in check and just start with simple steps.

In one month from now I will have done ______________ .

I agree with @GMSI7D on this. I've set TFLF to my homepage and instead of it distracting me, I find it quite inspiring to see people getting shit done. I make a note of things I find interesting throughout the day and then have a closer read of the topics when I get time later on.

I don't believe you can get motivation from other people though. You've got to get that internal drive for yourself, no-one can do this for you.You can get a jump start from reading or hearing something that gets you going, but if you haven't built yourself a strong engine, you're not going to get very far.

There's lot's of good people here that can show you the way, but ultimately we all have to do it for ourselves.

Good luck with it all.:)

Agreed with those above me. Focus on building better habits by replacing old with new.

My suggestions:

lifting actual free weights... you know, with a barbell. Machines train incomplete and unnatural patterns of motion that can result in injury down the line at worst, and lack actual functionality at best.

N-back training: you can get a free app on your phone to help repair the damage done to your working memory. Yes, drinking is bad for you. The more you do it, the more damage you do.

daily reading of actionable material - if you can't use it, don't read it. Don't bother with motivational stuff.

Get a job and get your finances squared away. $5,000 isn't much to pay off and can be done quickly with even joe schmoe type jobs.

That will put you in a position of power when starting a business.

Pull out a notepad. Write down your ideal life. Visualize it every day after waking up, before you sleep at night.

Cut out TV, video games, negative friends.

Only spend on necessities, use the rest to kill the debt.

Exercise 5-6 times a week. Eat clean foods - eat sh*t, feel like sh*t.

Read "Relentless" by Tim Grover (the guy who trained Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant)

There is no magic quote/word/pep talk to get you started on biz ideas.

Whatever idea you have, just fu**ing do it. Give it your best shot. Keep doing it until you hit a winner.

Think of your life as a movie and you're the director. YOU write your own story.

Good luck

hey @kelvinfernandezm ,

I feel for you, I've been there, I understand the frustration and self-hate that creates these kinds of posts. I started off by making meaningless declarations on this forum too.

You know what pulled me out of that cycle?

A truth I learned from @IceCreamKid : "Daily action will yield success". Start now by doing one thing. One tangible thing that has nothing to do with reading about business, reading this forum, or posting your business plan on this forum. Those are action fakes. They feel good, and you feel like you know more... but really, the fastest way to really learn what the people on this forum are talking about is to be in the trenches, doing business.

Take it one day at a time, and don't let a day go by where you've taken zero action.

If you post your business idea, I'll give you examples of immediate actions you can take this week, if you're struggling to get the wheels in motion.

It's been seven years and I'm always thinking about starting some type of online business but I never do anything. I just continue, thinking about it.

This hits home, when I started as well. Long nights watching adult swim in my underwear getting black out drunk.

There's a lot of good advice here but this is going to be a bit backwards.

Don't change everything you're doing now.

People will rally you up and you'll become energized for a couple of hours, then it's back to square one. If you're not used to maintaining high energy 12 hours a day, you won't be able to just jump right into it.

Start small. Take 5 min out of your day and do 1 thing to get you closer to your goal. After that 5 min, go back to playing video games.

I think someone on the forum posted this: Think of it like lifting weights. You don't start out lifting 500lb, you start at 5 and work your way up.

I started off by just being happy with any progress i've made each day, even if only for 5 minutes.

3 years later i easily spend a few hours a day working on my goals, it's part of who i am now.

baby steps.

I think I have a pretty strong foundation because I'm already doing most of the things you have suggested. From now on I won't drink unless it's a holiday. I've been lifting for 6 months now and eating and sleeping are in check. Thank you for your input. Specially the part where you write down what you must accomplish in one month.

Thank you. And you're right motivation only comes from the inside. But what I meant about getting motivation from people here is that since now that I have said what I wanted to you guys, it puts pressured on me to actually do it.

Yes I've been hitting the gym for the last 6 months only doing compound lifts. I'll look into the app. Yeah that's why I'm cutting off all the other useless websites that are too much theory but not enough practical information that I could use right now.

I have a job and yes that's why I'm saving up all my money so I won't have to worry about having debt and not concentrating on my work.

It's been seven years and I'm always thinking about starting some type of online business but I never do anything. I just continue, thinking about it.

I totally understand how you're feeling right now, and I think you are very very lucky.

Now I'm 28 and I quit my job almost a year ago to do 100% IM, but I started reading self help and entrepreneurial material when I was 18. 9 years have passed before I took action, so if you think you are lazy, think again!

"Rich Dad Poor Dad", "The 4 Hour Workweek", "7 Habits of Highly Effective People", "Emotional Intelligence", name a book and I've read it for sure, I was an expert at reading and not taking action.

When I finally did it, it actually took me less than a year to achieve a stable income that allowed me to quit.

Reading about 21yo gurus that become millionaires in less than a week can be frustrating, but I learnt to not give a shit.

Everyone has his own time and learning curve. I think the time you have spent it's not wasted, it actually changed you as an individual even if you don't think so.

Good luck!

I was half joking.

You'll find a ton of really useful information here. There's information abound on this website. The community is amazing and I'm personal friends with several people that I met here.

This community has changed my life. I'm a self sufficient person who does not need a job to pay my rent and my bills, and I have the forum to thank.

However, I was only HALF joking.

This place has so much information that it can be paralyzing, especially for someone brand new to business.

Just going through the GOLD threads alone will take you probably an entire day to digest. If you buy an INSIDERS sub (which I highly recommend), you'll get access to several threads that are 20+ pages long that document journeys of some of our most accomplished members. These journeys are several years long.

On the Outside, though, you can learn about so many different types of businesses. E-commerce, importing, licensing, software development, real estate, local service businesses, lead generation businesses, subscription services... and you have to choose ONE and hammer at it. It can take forever to do so.

I would start, first and foremost, with the mindset stuff. Your head seems to be in the right place, you just need focus.
