I noticed that "epic party and basketball tournament at MJ's house" didn't make it onto the itinerary.

Im hoping and praying that he’ll tell us in person instead of on the public forum

1) My house is an hour away.
2) I don't recognize a lot of the attendees (people who don't visit the forum often, no posts, etc.) which to be honest, I'm not terribly comfortable having complete strangers at my home. While many of you aren't, the fact is, some are. The group is not 40 ppl like years past, it's 165.
3) I just moved in, the place lacks furniture (still not entirely unpacked) and isn't really fit for a party in its current condition.
4) Aside from those logistics, having another event within this event is just too much for me to organize. And one at my house is not something I'd delegate.
5) It wasn't in the budget -- I researched an offsite event at another location (or at the casino) and at the end of the day, I was looking at another $10K in expenses. The ticket prices don't support it.
6) With all that in play, I never got to a stage to seriously follow through on it.

I thought of having a small private affair, but that opened a whole other can of worms. Who to invite? Who not? Such would cause dirision and be unfair to those who didn't get an invite. Likely that would imply some sort of special inner circle or special clique-- that's the last thing I want to do.

right now, stop and put a reminder in your phone for 8a each day of the event. it should say 'who can i help today?' ..... do it now

I feel silly asking this but what would be the recommended attire?

Formal and informal.

We’re unscripted we can wear whatever as long as we get to the conference. I don’t even own nice slacks. I wear athleisure every day of my life. I had to splurge to buy jeans for this event. There’s no way I’m wearing church dresses to sit in a chair for eight hours.
So far I’m out $1600 just to make this happen and I’m not flying in from the UK. Those guys are spending close to 3K.
Event + flight + hotel + four days of daycare for my kids + time away from work... it’s ridiculous. Worth every penny though. Nobody’s gonna care wtf you wear as long as you don’t show up naked; it’s your attitude that matters.

If I catch wind of MJ doing another value skew competitions as he did in 2016, I might show up without any clothes That $1k+ would cover my hotel and most of the summit ticket price. I'd either win by default or would have a head start when the question was raised to streak and earn that handful of cash.

Ok I've gone all mid-life crisis and just rented a Mustang convertible. I couldn't find a Miata to rent. 70 degrees on Saturday and Sunday? shiiiiiiit, I'm going on a drive and enjoying this as much as possible. Any great scenic roads out there? Maybe the paved sections of Apache trail. I need to take in some rugged beauty. Route 89a to Sedona, maybe Sunday afternoon. This is going to be great.

I'm down. Is there a significant difference between the two locations for hiking?

Well, Superstition is a much larger area with dozens of trails at varying degrees of difficulty/ease. Camelback I believe only has 2 trails. Camelback will likely be way busier/crowded. Camelback is in the city and Superstitions on the outskirts.

If the Camelback hike is Thursday one could hike both.
