Last year there was issues with WAIVER rules...

We had last place gets first pick. This is generally the fairest, but as the season grinds on, it no longer becomes fair.

The problem with moving away from that is anyone with a bad start, generally will have their season over in 4 or 5 weeks.

How about weeks 1-6 do it that way? And weeks 7-13 move to standard rules?

There's no real ideal system obviously. FAAB (budget) is probably the closest but it can be too complex for those not used to auction bidding and more casual players often find it annoying.

As long as everyone knows the system beforehand it's up to them to make the best of it.

I'm hoping for something other than pick 1 this year, or at least the option to trade out of that position before the draft. I had about 11 guys I was considering last year so could have easily traded down and still got someone like OBJ at 18-19.

My team was awful last year and I need to make up for that bad showing last season and get back to winning, like I did in the first season of the FF, where I finished second. Don't I know it. I had a chance to win the whole thing, but I played the wrong QB and it was all over but the crying. Last year wasn't even close. Are you playing this year Vigilante? You should, lots of fun, along with copious amounts of stress that make you second guess yourself every week and pull your hair out.

I couldn't stand last years waiver rules. So many players go down during the season. If you draft a good team and get off to a good start, then you're pretty much doomed like my team was last year. You have no chance to pick up anyone even remotely good off waivers which led to my demise. I started off with a team of superstars and ended the playoffs with a team of misfits.

Why, oh why, did I start Alex Smith in that last game. If only I had started Tannehill, I would have been the champ. Me and my friends woulda, coulda, and shoulda are still recovering from that brainfart.

I read this thread all the way through and sooo don't have a clue what you're all talking about - which is probably why you want me to play.

In this case though, the fish knows he's the fish so will respectfully not sit at the table with his chips.
