Preserving Wealth, My #1 Tip. Don't Get Married! (Or Maybe You Should?)

    NOTABLE!
Friendly reminder that depending on country/laws/pre-nup/etc., getting caught hiding assets can seriously F*ck you up in a divorce. Especially with assets earned/purchased during the marriage, good luck convincing the judge or opposing lawyer of anything if they somehow catch wind. Not trying...

    Professional Services: Fastlane Enough?

Ya that's one of my concerns, although I'm trying to work around it. For example, the firm name not being just one or two last names, but something more generic that anyone could step into. And a lot of automating where possible so it doesn't rely on me or a certain lawyer being there/reporting...

    Professional Services: Fastlane Enough?

Awesome response, some things for me to think about. Read the first few posts in your linked thread and will give it a more thorough read later on. Based on the responses so far and my answers to your 2 questions, I do think it's worth pursuing further and as per @jon2089 's link, I just need...

    Professional Services: Fastlane Enough?

Hey guys, Did some digging on the site but couldn't find an answer to whether or not a professional services business has the exit potential to be fastlane. More specifically, can professional service companies be bought and sold for high values like any others? For example, I'm in law. I...

    Fastlaner Fitness Tips

    HEALTH
    1) Find the workout time that works best for you that you know you will actually stick to. I know I won't get up at 7am to workout, but I actually enjoy it around 3-4pm when I start to hit that mental slump, so I take a 20min power nap and do it then. 2) Keep them quick but effective. My...

Which one to read first TMF or Unscripted?

I just finished TMF but haven't read unscripted - I'm assuming they can be read in either order, but TMF was a) a really big eye opener and b) a really good place to start in terms of putting things in perspective and pointing you in the right direction on how to get a fastlane life started...

What is the BEST "value" you ever paid for?

    NOTABLE! HOT! EXECUTION CHAT
I'd have to say the $30 slow-cooker I got at Costco (although any decent slow-cooker will do). Cuts down on time spent prepping/cooking and saves me a ton of money because of how easy it is to make delicious food at home and in large quantities too (great for meal prep).

Thanks all, and to Greg, that's great to hear. Is your new venture related to law at all?

    Not Your Average Lawyer

Thanks SteveO, and you are definitely correct - the profession is full of...interesting...personalities. My take is that it's a group of academically successful, type-A people who do tend to think highly of themselves because of a lot of "success" and praise throughout their lives ("you did so...

    Not Your Average Lawyer

    INTRO
Hey guys, Long time lurker, and last week I finally decided to make the jump - read TMF and commit 100% to my current businesses for 2018 and beyond. I'm about half way through and have loved every page. About me? Well, I'm a lawyer by trade but realized after my first year in the profession...
