Coding bootcamp business - is it worth to start?

If I were to pay $$ for instructor led for x months of time commitment, I'd want to know the following: Why should I pay you versus someone else (what is your programming portfolio, ie, show me your work and how do I know that you did the work) Why should I pay you versus paying one of the many...

Useful Tools - Programmers and Web Developers

The strength of the keypass db is not in the cloud drive provider, but the passphrase used to encrypt the keypass db. If you are more paranoid, use KeePassXC (KeePassXC Password Manager) in combination with a Yubikey (YubiKey 4 Security Keys for Two Factor Authentication | Yubico Store), have...

Useful Tools - Programmers and Web Developers

Not really a programmer, more of a SysAdmin that has done a lot of utility programs. I find these things useful Macbook Pro (way more productive than I was using Windows and Linux as my desktop) - homebrew is awesome github (public repos are free, and for starring other developer projects)...

Take Your Computer Security Seriously! YOU Are At Risk!

    GOLD!
Nice thread, lots of good advice. Assume that you will be hacked, or are probably hacked and don't know about it yet. If you are targeted, its only a matter of time. What high profile company/govt hasn't been hacked yet? Have good backups (I like crashplan.com) Keep things updated (can't...

    Orlando/Miami Meetup?

    MEETUPS
Same, depending on format, I may be interested. I'm usually in Orlando or Daytona area. Not sure how much I can contribute (currently a slowlaner), but since we are similar minded, always up for a drink and meet new people.

Automated: A guide to AWS and the possibilities of scalability (Code and Software Architecture)

Glad to see an Amazon AWS overview thread. I agree that AWS is super flexible (and cheap? (if you don't include labor)), but it is fairly complex. Albeit I don't run a business on AWS, but for personal stuff, I tend to gravitate toward a flatter model (ie. Digital Ocean, Rackspace ), etc...

    Google Home

    OFF-TOPIC
I've got the Amazon Echo and love it, but mostly for yelling for song changes while in the pool. I confess, I haven't used it much more than a hands free music player, but I do know it will integrate with a lot of other things.

    I love this F*cking guy!

    MINDSET RANT
Love his channel as well, been a subscriber for awhile, his view of getting to the point and telling people what they need to hear (not what they want) is great.

    slowlaner inbound, watch out!

    SLOWLANE INTRO
Hey everyone, Brian here. In the middle of reading Unscripted (can't put the book down), just about to start Chapter 31. I absolutely love the tone and wisdom in the book. Almost 3 decades in the slowlane (it's all I've known). I've done a lot of different things, but mostly IT. I've pretty...
