Just finished it. 18-months after Millionaire Fastlane. It's another great rant to keep up the motivation.

Hi All I know a handful of startups that have gotten upwards of $100K from a large enterprise to build a product that they would need, but also allow the startup to sell it elsewhere and make a business from it. I've been pushed by a high-profile investor to do the same where the product I have...

Award winner! Does it make much difference?

We were fortunate to be awarded one of Westpac's Businesses of Tomorrow. For those that don't know, Westpac, is Australia's second largest company by market cap, 200 years old, and one of our big 4 banks. So the name carries some prestige and credibility. What are good ways to capitalize on the...

Deciding how to split equity amongst co-founders.

    PEOPLE
Dilution doesn't typically work like that. It isn't you selling your shares which would adjust the percentages like that and have tax implications. It is issuing more shares which causes the dilution. So if you have 25 shares and the other 75, if you want to issue an investor 20, there is now...

    I've Read The Millionaire Fastlane!

    GOLD! HOT!
I understand completely. I was definitely bought up slowlane, but it was nicely recognised that it does contain the fiscal responsibility practices required for successful sustainable fastlane.

Totally agree, something to be aware of. Not that @MrSterlock is there yet.

    I've Read The Millionaire Fastlane!

    GOLD! HOT!
Finished listening to the book. What a rant! And I mean that in a good way. I've had those discussions with so many people I've given up trying to convince people and put the energy into executing on my own goals. It was very therapeutic to listen to and motivating. Thanks @MJ DeMarco. When...

Deciding how to split equity amongst co-founders.

    PEOPLE
I don't think time equates to value. There is a risk/reward ratio that needs to be determined to set the equity split. The most important thing however is the vesting of stock. If either of you pull out the company can claim back the shares. A typical vesting period is 1/3 after one year, and...

Should I have a lawyer go over a Heads of Agreement?

Can I put together a Memorandum of Understanding or something else? Can I make it legally binding without a lawyer?

Should I have a lawyer go over a Heads of Agreement?

I've got a Heads of Agreement I am working on with a new partner. They will license my software for use. Should I get a lawyer to draft a more rigorous contract that will take time and money to do, or just go for it with the terms we have drafted? I host and run the software as a Saas product...

How do you effectively set goals?

    MINDSET
As mention S.M.A.R.T guidelines are good for defining them. One thing I heard 15 years ago and have heard from many successful people since is a Goal Card. Have them written down and carry them with you and read it many times a day. Phones make this easy to do now. Set it as your lock screen.

Thanks for pointing that out. I don't see it much since I've got the content cached. Annoys me like crazy too. I've removed it now :) I did see it appear in my screen recordings from HotJar and stay on for almost all visitors. Awesome tool, if you don't have it or something similar on your web...

Thanks @strobe. I'm focusing more on product to ensure no to low touch sales. We have content marketing building up and direct email to support that. In the next few months the plan is to focus on partnerships as the sales channel.

Thanks @MJ DeMarco! I've just been targeting Australia (where I am) for the last year. I think I need to get going international quickly to get some traction happening well. As I said earlier, so much to do. But I have a plan and a target. Just need to hit it hard :)
