I simply cannot understand how anyone can say that investors bet on sure things. Very few things in life is a sure bet. Wheter it is buying RE, stocks, art or whatever...

    It does of course depend on the business, but in the companies I have been involved with here in Norway its the distributor who have to market the product/brand in the that country. But as I said, I also know of instances where the manufacturer has paid for marketing.
